Yeehaw its deputy Christopher

Hello blog friends!

I've decided to reapply for another term on the Inky Impressions DT, they have a DT call open at the moment for the next term.  I have really enjoyed my time there so far.  To apply for a place on the DT you need to post a card to the Inky Challenge blog and the theme is

Lots of layers and a bit of stitching

  here is the link

I've made my card with my absolute favourite inky stamp Deputy Christopher.  I even surprised myself with how much I love this stamp - its definitely not cute and girly but for me he just has something about him.  I remember seeing him for the first time before I ever joined the Inky team and knew I just had to have this stamp!  Also there are some really great cowboy digi papers about so it just makes it so easy!

Moving along with the times birthday celebrations - week 2!

Good Morning all

Its the second week of our fabulous birthday celebrations at MAWTT,  the fun is still going on with lots of prizes up for grabs from our wonderful sponsors - go on over to the blog to see just whats going on and all the great prizes you could win!

I chose to use this gorgeous little girl from the Crafty Pad - she's called Lulu and has just arrived with the MAWTT birthday cake!  - isn't she gorgeous -I just love her dress, it reminded me of a pink taffeta party dress that my daughter got one Christmas when she was little, it was just the colour I've made Lulu's and all shimmery and sticky out and it made a gorgeous rustling sound like taffeta does.  Whatever happened to the days when little girls wore gorgeous dresses instead of looking like mini pop stars!   The resemblance to Alison ends with the dress though, instead of the long blonde hair she had (and still has) lots of curls like me - very hard to deal with sometimes but you learn to live with it lol.

Here's what I did....

Digi stamp - Lulu with birthday cake from the crafty pad
Coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils
Papers - Kitchy Kitchen by Milissa Frances
Die- is half a label die from spellbinders
Balloons and stars - Martha Stewart
Bow - from my stash

Why don't you go on over to the Moving Along With the Times blog - you'll find some fabulous cards and projects that my DT teamies have made

Challenges I am entering with this card

Squigglefly - use a pink bow or button
The sisterhoodofcrafts challenge -stars

Have a great day

Yes I know another beach card!  I had the perfect stamp for this theme - this gorgeous little girl from Inky Impressions called Beach Bound Lil - isn't she just gorgeous.
I love these little girls, apart from the fact that they are so cute they are quite substantial stamps

I'm Guest DT at Delightful Challenges!

Hello again!

Beach card number two!!

This must be my busiest blog day ever!
I was invited to be Guest DT over at Delightful chalenges - and of course I jumped at the chance!
I love the cute digis they have at Digital delights and when they said I could choose a stamp and a sentiment I went straight for this lovely little hula girl called Hula Halina from the last new release and also the cute flower sentiment -"just for you"

I have to confess that its not the straightest photograph I've ever taken! I didn't realise it was so wonky until I posted it!! - but there was no chance of a re-shoot as it went straight out of the door when it was finished for my god-daughters birthday.

Here's what I did......

Digi stamp (and sentiment) - Hula Halina by Digital Delights
Scalloped card-craftwork cards
card- Bazzill
Papers - Raspberry road - Frog Luau
Ribbons - Carnmeal cottage
Flowers - Prima
Sunshine charm (which says made with a smile on the back - cute) - Inky Impressions
cocktail embellies - Reflections by Michaels

I'll be back soon with my beach card number 3, I know lots of you do 3 cards in a day - especially on a Wednesday, I think its a popular challenge day...... I'm exhausted by the experience lol -see you later!

Hi blogfriends

I'd like to give a big welcome to my new followers this week and
Today on my What I Did ...and what I did next blog - I am declaring it officially

Beach Day!
(whether the sun shines or not)

We have a great new challenge over at Fab'n'Funky challenges this week
and our wonderful hostess for the week is

Pat

who has chosen the theme

Cute and Girly

We have a great sponsor again this week

who is offering a £10 voucher to spend in store

As today progresses- if you visit my other two posts for the day as well (yes three in one day!) You'll probably think I've gone totally beach mad -it's definitely beach day here on my What I did blog.

So here's the first of my beach cards

This is such a cute digi - from Saturated Canary called Toes in the sand - she's just gorgeous, though this card here is the photographed version 1 - version 2 - which to be fair is practically identical - is the rescued version after I spilled a glass of water over it.  I couldn't believe what I had done, the worst thing was the yellow flowers which bled into the while card so I had to pull the whole thing to bits  but at least it was rescuable!!

This is what I did...
Digi stamp- Saturated Canary - Toes in the sand
Coloured with - Copics and prismacolor pencils
Papers - yet more of those freebees from a craft magazine
Birthday sentiment - lili of the valley
Bunting - Anna Griffin
Flowers - Wild Orchid
Beach embellies - from a selection of Jollies that I bought at Michaels (where else!!)
Ribbon - Carnmeal cottage

The new DT girls Pat K, Jackie, Sue and Linda are showing their first cards over at Fab'n'Funky this week - be sure to go and see them and all the other fabulous Fab'n'Funky DT for this weeks challenge

Hope to see you soon with my next beach card!

Happy Birthday MAWTT!

Good Morning blog friends

Hope you're all well this fine morning - the weather is still holding out as I write this post, but as I'll be stuck in the office all day it doesn't much matter what happens after I go out the door and off to work!

Its an exciting day over at Moving Along With The Times this week - its our third birthday - three whole years of fun challenges .... and we're ready to celebrate.  The challenge this week is not for a week - its a fortnight!!  The DT will be posting cards again next week but you have a whole to weeks to enter this huge challenge, with a whole host of prizes on offer from our fantastic sponsors.  Remember you can enter a maximum of 3 times and combine as many other challenges as you like, the challenge is - obvious - how could it be anything else!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

The card I've made is for my son Tom who is 20 tomorrow.  He's away on holiday this week at an activities centre - canoeing, zip wires - those sort of scary things!  Definitely not my cup of tea - I'm scared in case I fall of the kerb!!  Anyway this card is made using Saturated Canary's Usherette.  The DT girls were really lucky to be given a whole selection of images from all our different sponsors and we've all made a selection of cards to show you over the two weeks of the challenge.

I knew this little usherette was the perfect image for a card for Tom when I saw it when it was released earlier this year, so I jumped at the chance when the lovely Krista said we could all choose one stamp from her fab shop for this challenge.  Tom is studying film and media at university - he lives and breathes film, not just going to the cinema, he knows anything and everything about  directors, producers, film history, film scripts -all sorts of all sorts, so this was his without a doubt!!  I also knew that I had this fab K & Co paper, I've had it for years waiting patiently in a pad, along with all sorts of other papers for years just waiting for this stamp to come along!!  I tried to get a very vintage look to this card - sort of Film Noire with a splash of colour ha ha

Heres what I did...

Digi stamp - Usherette by Saturated Canary
Coloured with - Copics and Prismacolor pencils
Paper - K & Co - all the elements -"popcorn", tickets the camera scene were all cut from the one 12x12
Organza Ribbon - Carnmeal cottage
Sentiment - Anna Griffin stamp set

I was really please with the effect when I had finished - its just so him! - not that there's any Usherettes in cinemas any more but I'm sure you know what I mean.  He gets home on his birthday tomorrow and I've missed him being here this week so we're out for a family birthday celebration tomorrow night!

By the time you read this I'll be sitting at my desk : (  - hope  its a quiet day lol

Challenges I'm entering with this card

Delightful Challenges - Anything goes
DYSU Challenge  - inspires by a film (popcorn!)
Crafts and me - anything goes
Paperminutes - movies
Art with no boundries - performing arts
Desmet Designs - card for a man
Crafters companion - lots of embellishments

This weeks challenge is wedding at My time to Craft

Morning Blog friends

Oh what a beautiful morning , oh what  a beautiful day ... can you hear me singing! What a difference the  sunshine makes!

I'm so sorry that I haven't been around much , just had such a busy week and still trying to catch up my DT cards after my hollies- I'm getting there but just by the skin of my teeth!

Its challenge day at MTTC again - where did that two weeks go!  - and the challenge is Wedding.  I printed out and coloured this SC digi and chose the paper and card to use - after that I just didn't have a clue  where I was going - its definitely a happy accident sort of card!! I wasn't quite happy with this card when I finished - I even posted it on the DT blog so this card here is version  2! I looked at it again and decided it needed pearls- how can you have a wedding card without pearls  - the small pearls were already pink and I coloured the stick pearls to match with my copics, and I rephotographed  (twice)  on a lighter setting and I eventually liked it a bit better 3rd time around - but its still a bit fuzzy - don't know what's going on I'll have to get David Bailey in lol (I even tried outside but it blew the feathers around too much!)

This is what I did

Digi stamp - by Krista Smith at Saturated Canary
Coloured with - copics and Prismacolor pencils
Paper - SEI Coture - its lovely and pearly but don't think you can see in the picture
Distress ink - tattered rose by tim Holtz
Flowers - wild orchid and from my stash
Swirl die - elegant scrollwork from memory box
Embossed heart die and die with sentiment- spellbinders
White feather -Joanna Sheen (had these for years!!)
Heart charm - Inky Impressions (they have a huge selection - something for everything!)
Small pearls - Inky Impressions (thank you Inky Mamma Nicole!)
Stick pearls - John Lewis habberdashery
I'm entering the following challenges with this card

Make it Monday - anything goes
Tammys scrappin corner  ribbons and bows
Whoopsie daisy challenge -  use those swirls
Addicted to stamps - use one or more pins
Craft your days away - bingo - flowers ribbon gems
Just some lines - Weddings

Well that's all from me for today - see you tommorrow

your choice of an Inky Impressions Character or Animal Stamp and a selection of our gorgeous Inky charms.

I chose to use Nickies Birdie from Inky Impressions for my card - she is so
pretty I love her face and the way she is looking down at the little bird.
I decided to carry on with the birdie theme and teamed it up with Prima
meadow lark paper for full effect - my Mam would hate this card cos "Ooo you can't have anything with birds on - its unlucky" ! Also to complete the challenge I used the cute inky key charm that I hung from the ribbon with a jump ring,
there's a mahoosive collection of charms over at the Inky Impressions shop -
absolutely gorgeous, I couldn't believe the variety - a charm for every
occassion! -and theres more arriving all the time so go and check it out here.

Today is an Inky impressions Celebration!

Hi Blog friends

Firstly I'd like to say a big hello to my new followers, its so nice of you all to join me - I hope I've been and visited you all - if not I'll be doing some visiting once I get myself back into the swing of things ... so many cards ....not enough time!!

Today its time for another fab challenge from Inky Impressions.  I decide I'd give roller skating Lili another outing.  I used her for the first time to make a tag for last weeks challenge at MAWTT but really think she deserve so much more!  So this week she's been promoted to her own card - and an easel card at that!

I did some serious craft shopping at Michaels craft store while I was in Florida, brought back some fab embellies that we just don't see here in England and also some fantastic bargains - what with 30% off Martha Stewart punches and my 40 and 50% off vouchers I was on a real roll.  I was allowed 3 visits! - I got dropped off at Michaels while the supermarket shop got done or some other visit to a local shop that I didn't want to see - seemed like a fair deal to me!!  My first great bargain was the set of grand nesties that I used for this card.  I've been lusting after a set for a while now but just couldn't bring myself to pay the prices here in the UK - but with my 50% off one item voucher I nabbed them for around £16 - bargain or what!!  I also got the cherry embellies and the ladybird in a couple of different sets these are from Jollees from EK success a brand we don't see much of in the UK but they do fab embellies- and they were on offer too- how could I not buy them!

This is what I did....

Stamp - Roller skating lili from Inky Impressions
Coloured with - Copics and prismacolor pencils
Birthday sentiment  lili of the valley stamp
Hi Sentiment - Anna Griffin stamp
Die cut leafy sprig! - memory box
Papers - Mellisa Frances Kitchy Kitchen

Fathers day Challenge at Fab'n'funky Challenges

Good morning Blog Friends

Well here I am back from my hollies, it seems like I've been away forever!  I've been doing a bit of blogging while I'm away but if I haven't visited in a while i'll be trying to pop in over the next couple of weeks.  At the moment I'm just crafting like mad to get up to date with my cards again - course I had to pick the week when its Fathers day, my nephews 21st and my sons birthday all in the same week and two more birthdays next week!

The first card of the week is for our Fathers day challenge over at
there has to be a huge amount of Fathers day crafting going on this week.  Here in the UK its Fathers Day this weekend and in the US its in a couple of weeks I think so really you've got no excuse!

We are being sponsored this week by the fabulous

 Lili of the Valley

who are offering a prize of £10 to spend in their online store

There's also still time to apply for our DT - we have a call out at the minute so if you're interested go on over and have a look at the Fab'n'Funky challenges blog for details.  We already have some applications from some fabulous crafters and its going to be a very difficult decision - but who knows there's still time - it could be you.

The Fathers day card I made is for my youngest son to give to his Dad

I've been very lucky lately twice winning digis from the fabulous Di's Digidownloads, I chose this one especially with Fathers day in mind.  Its quite a large scene but was just great to colour, I didn't want to go overboard with colour - it being a "man" card - so I kept to mainly browns and blues, I felt sure he had been working hard in the garden and not skiving , so I gave him dirty hands and feet! -  and it needed very little in the way of embellies because the main focus is on the image

This is what I did

Digi stamp - Gardening Ted -from Dis digi downloads
Coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils and gel pen
Papers - Fiddlesticks from MME
Butterflies - anitas dimension stickers
Screw Brads- Creative expressions
Fathers day Sentiment - Digi from Sweet and Sassy stamps - another win!

Challenges I'm entering with this card

Digidesign challenge blog - Male inspired cards
Crafty sentiments - Fathers day
Digital Tuesdays - butterflies
Cards for Men - Fathers day
Forever Friends - Anything Goes
Dream valley Challenges - for that special guy
Sentimental Sundays - for that special guy

Thats all from me for now - I'll be back later with this weeks Inky impressions DT card

Thursday 7 June 2012

MAWTT challenge day - anything but a card

Good Morning all

Hope you're all well this fine morning.

I'm still away on holiday but the end is nigh!!  To all of you suffering with the effects of the wonderful British weather (most people from what I can gather) it might make you feel better that it hasn't been so good here in Florida either.  We've been coming to Florida for 17 years now and this is definately the worst weather we've ever had.  Don't get me wrong we've had some gorgeous weather while we've been here and in Florida its normal to get rain almost every day - but its usually a huge downpour all over in half an hour and dry again in 10 minutes.  These last few days its been mostly  grey and miserable with lots of rain - still hot but wet at the same time!

Its also a bit like a hospital here in our house, my hubby Dean's got this cold and cough that he can't get rid of - in fact it's getting worse (to be honest I 'm sick of hearing him cough) and I had to go to the walk in medical centre yesterday becaused I've got an ear infection (they're calling it swimmers ear!).  No good old national health here it cost about £70 for the consultation and another £80 for antibiotic ear drops, on the bright side the by mouth antibiotics I got were free.  But my insurance excess is £150 so thats that!

I think I caught it in time - my ear's more sore and uncomfortable than painful but no swimming or washing of hair for me, oh well worse things have happened.

I managed to get this tag/giftcard holder made for this weeks MAWTT challenge before I left
The challenge is hosted by our talented Lisa Jane who has chosen the theme

Anything but a card

I have to admit the photograph's not the best - it has a little loop on the top so you could hang it up and for some reason I didn't photograph the back of the tag either!  There's a little pocket in the back to put a gift card - hey-ho! thats what happens when you rush to get something done -sorry.

This weeks challenge is being sponsored by
Stitchy Bear digital stamps

who are offering a fab prize of $10 to spend in store for this weeks challenge winner

This is what I did...

Tag cut from lemon and layered with pink card
Image - inky impressions roller skating Lili
Coloured with - Promarkers and prismacolor pencils

Ribbon - Carnmeal Cottage

Hope you'll all join us over at MAWTT this week - look forward to seeing anything but a card!

Happy Jubilee and DT call at MTTC

Morning All

Well its morning here in Sunny Florida! - where I'm still on me jollies

Having a fab time and keeping up with all the Jubilee celebrations back home - I'm watching the Tuesday parade as I type and have breakfast at the same time - I'm such a multi tasker!!  Can't beleive the commentry here on CNN curtesy of Piers Morgan!

Just called in to say its challenge day at

 - no card from me I'm afraid but also to let you know that

there's a DT call going on over there!

 - so why don't you have a look over at the blog and apply
you never know it could be you!!!

I had a great time here decorating our pool deck for the jubilee - I suprised the family by getting up early and doing the old red white and blue thing (and suprisingly the paper chains are still there - I thought the heat might have brought them down - might just leave them as my little bit of England in USA!!)

Jubilee on our pool deck!

Have a great - rest of the holiday weekend everyone in the UK and hope everyone has a great week

Hugs
