A KISS from me to you x

Hi all

I've been busy catching up on some cards these past few days - as well as DT cards (which there really aren't a lot of as everyone is either on holiday or longer challenges it seems!) I also have quite a few birthdays and occasions coming up and thought I'd better get a wiggle on!

I made this cute card for my Sister in law for her birthday -My favourite flowers and a cute character all in one image!  Its the cute Wryn Blooms from Tiddly Inks and she's available here

I took inspiration for this card from the pretty papers and kept the rest of the card fairly plain - its not exactly a CAS card but I didn't want to go overboard with the embellies - with busy papers like this I think you can have too much of a good thing and I'm more of a KISS girl
 - for those not in the know that's- Keep It Simple Stupid!!!

This is what I did....

Image - Wryn Blooms from Tiddly Inks
Coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils
Papers -The sweetest thing tangerine - from My Minds Eye
- with watching cabouchon stick on beads
Card - Bazzil Basics
Ribbon - From Carnmeal Cottage
Flower border punch - from Martha Stewart
Corner dies - Whimsy Stamps
Sentiment  -from Digital Delights

Challenges I'm entering with this card

A sympathy card

Good morning all

Can you believe that this weather is still holding!  We have been just about living in our garden for the past few weeks - breakfast and dinner out there every day! - and we even had an Indian take away in the garden last night - now there's a first, there I was sitting with my curry and a glass of the new blackberry Pimms that I treat myself to in Tesco - this is the life!! - but its also why not much crafting is getting done around here.

It was actually quite an experience in our garden tonight - though nothing to do with the food.  We live very close to the coast and its the Sunderland airshow tomorrow, there we were sitting eating our curry and along came a Lancaster bomber - so low you could look up and see the undercarriage clearly and then a spitfire went zipping past - then the red arrows did a few loops and finally a typhoon (no I'm not an expert - though I've seen them many times at the airshow) - but had a look at the Sunderland website to see what was going at at tonights opener.  So impressive and we'll be walking down again this weekend to see the displays as they fly out over the coast and sea.

Anyway I digress I have a new card to share today for
My Time to Craft Challenge
and also
my Whimsy Inspiration card this week

The theme at My Time to Craft is

Sympathy Cards

I used the gorgeous image Full Bloom available here
from Stampart design by Kathryne at Whimsystamps

I think I've used this one before (Kathy has some gorgeous floral designs and I just love them)
but I thought that this one really lent itself to a sympathy card.  I kept it very simple with the focus on the image and made it into a pretty easel shape.  I personally think that a sympathy card should be simple in design - its not really the time for OTT embellies - well that's my opinion :  ).

Here's what I did..

Image - Full Bloom form Stampart Design by Kathryne at Whimsy Stamps
Coloured with copics and shaded with prismacolor pencils
Sentiment - created in word
Papers - MME lost and found - blush - love these papers
Ribbon - my current favourites from a pack of american crafts ribbons bought at TK Max
Pearls - Kars
Card - Bassill basics
Die cut shape  for frame - Spellbinders labels 10
Tag - Dienamics tag die set

For once I have the colours for you of my copics - a favourite go to combo of each colour set

Reds E39, E37,E35, E32
Greens G63, G61, G11, G0000
Beiges E43, E41, E40
prismacolour pencils - Tuscan Red and Warm Grey (70%)

Things seem to be so quiet around blogland - perhaps just a simle little sympathy card will be an easy make and we'll see you at MTTC this week - see you there

Hugs

Anything Goes at The paper Shelter this week!

Good morning all

Its our special anything goes challenge at The Paper Shelter this week and both teams A and B are playing and the challenge lasts for 2 whole weeks so you have plenty of time to get your entries in

I really love this little lady when I saw her - its another new one available over at  The Paper Sheltwer - She called Vintage seamstress- I got my black prismacolor pencil out and really went to town with the vintage style of colouring and I've fallen in love with a bag of Papermania buttons I bought lately so I stuck a whole bunch of them on this card - I thought the pins, ribbons, lace and buttons sort of went with the sewing theme - I think she looks like a wartime girl making the most of what she's got!

As always at The Paper Shelter you have the chance to win a $30 voucher to spend at The Paper Shelter store if you win the challenge using an image from The Paper Shelter - use any other image and you can still win 3 digis of your choice.

Here's what I did...

CAS challenge at The Paper Shelter

Good morning all

Its challenge day again for team A at the Paper Shelter
and this week we have a CAS (Clean and Simple) theme

I used this pretty little digi from The Paper shelter
called
Freshly Picked available here

To be honest I don't think I've ever made a CAS card before and I was in a bit of a panic about making this one.  I'm not a fussy frilly sort of person but on the other hand I like to have some pretty embellies on my cards and I needed to get my head around CAS.  I think (hope!) this is CAS enough - I feel as if it is but maybe some purist CAS expert will tell me different lol.

As always at The Paper Shelter you have the chance to win a $30 voucher to spend at The Paper Shelter store if you win the challenge using an image from The Paper Shelter - use any other image and you can still win 3 digis of your choice.

The gift voucher

Here's what I did.....

It seems so long since I last posted -I bet you thought I'd disappeared in a puff of smoke!

I'm finally back from my hollies (for a week now) and I have to say it's taken some settling back down and catching up after having been away for almost 4 weeks.  I still haven't got back into crafting properly - what with the good weather and allsorts of goings on since we got back I haven't had the time or the motivation to start up again properly - but I'm getting there - slowly.
