We're having a Baby week at Fab'n'funky challenges

Good morning all

Well I'm back!!
 - bet you didn't even notice I'd been away lol

I've just had a lovely week away in Tenerife
-it was a lovely treat to get a little sunshine, but for now it's back to reality
and I'll be round to catch up on my commenting and visiting soon

We have a new challenge for you over at

Fab'n'Funky Challenges

hosted by our lovely Jan who chose the theme

Baby
(anything baby!)

I decided to take the opportunity to add another Christmas card to the Christmas pile
using this lovely image from A Day for Daisies
called A Sign I Give - available HERE

there's a fab prize of a $12 gift card up for grabs this week from our sponsor

I went with a fairly simple style for this card
keeping the focus on the image which I coloured with Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils
the frame is yellow with an aged look created with pebeo gilding wax - it looks a bit random in this photo - but I rather like the effect - much better in real life

This is what I did....

Image - A sign I give from ADFD
Coloured with spectrum noir blendable pencils
Easel card created with creata die
Star die - Memory box
Peace, goodwill and Joy die - Crafter's Companion
Pebeo gilding wax - gold

Hope you'll come and play along with us this week

Happy birthday Winter Wonderland!

Good morning all

Well I'm back from my travels (yes I know again!) We've had a lovely couple of weeks, first up to beautiful Northumberland to drop off our youngest son on  his activities holiday at Keilder Water, I think Northumberland is the most beautiful county in England (IMHO!!) the gorgeous countryside, rolling hills, vast waters and then the beautiful coastline - it really is spectacular with lots of historical treasures to visit too.  We then drove from there to Edinburgh to spend a couple of days with our older son Matthew and the weather was just gorgeous, while England was languishing in the cold unseasonal weather Scotland was having their turn of temperatures in the 20's.  When we drove home it got colder and colder as we crossed the border - quite bizarre really.  But that was ok we weren't here for long!! After 2 days at home we flew off for a lovely trip to Rome with some good friends - some very good friends! - we discovered quite by chance while talking that it was our 40th friendship anniversary this year!! - We've all been friends since we were at school, oh where has the time gone.... So we had a drink or two in Rome just to celebrate properly.  It's taken me a few days to get back into the swing of things at home but I'm getting there.

but I digress......

Something news going on at Winter Wonderland!

Good morning all

Sorry I'm a bit late with my post today
- shall I just say we've been having utility problems and leave it at that : / - electricity and water are not easily done without lol.

It's time for a new challenge over at

and the theme for this week is

Something New

I decided to make a new baby card as a friend of mine just had a new baby girl

I used a cute image from our sponsor this week
called A Gift from the Stars its available HERE

I used my fab Spectrum Noir Sparkle pens together with Spectrum Noir markers to colour this cute image.  I tried my very best to show the sparkle in the photo - and think I succeeded!  It looks totally glittery - but it is much more subtle in real life.  I just sort of directed my craft lamp onto it and that pink certainly shines - the sparkle was also used on the leaves and stars as but think the light just really hit that pink lol.

Our sponsors this week at winter wonderland are

who are offering a $12 gift card

and

who are offering a £10 gift voucher

So this is what I did ....
