Its Summer sunshine at MAWTT - who am I kidding!!!

Good morning blog friends

Its Thursday yet again - and time for another new challenge at Moving Along with the Times.  This week our lovely Claire is hosting and has chosen the theme summer sunshine.  I presume this is wishful thinking from Claire cos we sure ain't got any!! .... but I'm pretty sure that if enough people join in with the challenge we could have some by the end of the week at MAWTT at least!!

I found this challenge a bit challenging!  Couldn't come up with a DT card at all - then I saw this digi on another blog and it was love at first sight!  It is from stamping dragon designs  and called beach scene.

the inside

I have never coloured such a big scene before and I quite enjoyed the challenge but when I finished felt as if something was missing probly because it has no central figure so decided to add some glitter for a bit of extra focus and I was even pleased with that too! There's very little to this card really but it reminds me of holidays and sunshine so that can't be a bad thing.

What I did....

Image - Beach scene from stamping dragon designs
coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils
Papers - Sun Kiss from Prima
Sentiment -cut with cricut expression
Foam sunshine and palm trees - American crafts
Glitter - selection of Martha Stewart colours
Ribbons - Carnmeal cottage
Gems - from my stash
Sentiment inside - Anna Griffin

Challenges I am entering with this card

canyoudigiit - sunrise and sunset
[pin]spirational challenges - picture inspiration
crafty boots challenges - yellow
The crazy challenge - Summer/beach
Made Especially for you - inspirational colours (yellow/blue/green/brown)
One stitch at a time -Here comes summer

Thats all from me today

Animal antics at Creative Craft challenge

Hi blog friends

Its another challenge over at Creative craft Challenges today and the theme is

Animal Antics!

Which basically means - put an animal on your card!!!

We have some great sponsors for this challenge, Bugaboo and Robyns fetish are both offering prizes as well as Joanna Sheen, so why don't you have a crafty play and lets see what Animal Antics you can get up to.

Heres my DT card that has been made with one of the fab images supplied to the DT by the sponsors. This one is from Bugaboo

I loved this little image as soon as I saw it and it said to me "I'm a bee!"  I coloured it all up and glitterd his wings - very bee like I thought and found a sentiment to match.  When my husband was giving his obligatory comment - like all good crafty husbands do - he said yes its very good but isn't it supposed to be a butterfly!!  Well now that you mention it he's probably right but you've just got to go with your instincts - and mine are obviously way off lol.

a close up of the glitter details

I did a bit of recycling with this card  the raffia came on a lovely bunch of flowers that I bought that I knew would be perfect for a card.  And the flowers - although they're from wild orchid have had their middles pulled out! and replaced with a lovely black gem to finish off the look

Heres what I did

Image - digi from bugaboo (since found thats he's butterfly bear!!)
Coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils
Scalloped card - craftwork cards
Sentiment - is a digi - can't remember who's but I'll update if I find it
Flowers -wild orchid crafts
Paper - prima sun kiss
Everything else is from my stash

Why don't you stop by to see what the design team has done with their images - you'll find some real inspiration from my talented teamies!

i'm entering this card in the following challenges

Ooh la la creations - bright and bold
Made especially for you - recycled  (raffia tied around card)
2 sisters challenge blog - use a digi
crazy 4 challenges - use black cardstock on your project
Di's digi design -lets meet your animal friends

Hi there blog friends

Here I am with my very late post!  I've had a total nightmare with blogger over the last few days - could only get in for about 10 minutes at a time before getting booted out and up loading photos was nigh on impossible - just about did my head in!!  So sorry  that I haven't been visiting these last couple of days but to be honest I just gave up - I'll try and do a catch up x

Anyway back to the real business

Today is challenge day at Fab'n'Funky challenges and the theme is

a closer look at the detail

We are being sponsored this week by

I just loved this little girl when I  saw her -a perfect Easter image and I could just see her in a little denim dress and black shiny shoes - so thats what she got.  I decided to bling up her Easter eggs with different coloured glitters and then I couldn't stop! So she got glitter on her dress, in her hair flowers and the bow on her basket, only the bunny escaped but if he'd had a bow round his neck he'd have got it too - funny how glitter does that to you lol!  After all that glitter I thought I'd better hold back on too many embellies

Its challenge day at My time to Craft

Hi Blog friends

Today is challenge day at My Time to Craft and the theme for this fortnight is

Make an Easel Card

I'm not big on easel cards and haven't made one for ages but I did enjoy making this card and I might just do it again soon. I think the only thing about easel cards is that not everyone (as in non crafters!) knows what to do with them.

I made this card for my daughters birthday - her birthday is actually today - Happy birthday Alison.  Not that she'll be reading this because she's gone to Centre Parks in the Lake District for the week with her husband and little baby son, to celebrate her birthday (today) her husbands birthday (also today) and their wedding anniversary (also today) !!!

I got some new papers through the week and just love them.  As soon as I saw this one - its sunkiss from prima - I knew what I was going to do with this card, isn't it great when that happens - certainly gets the mojo going

Spring has sprung - again

Hi blog friends

I'm definately on a pretty card thing at the minute - my daughter wanted a birthday card for her mother in law and this is what she got!  Its another of those Lili of the Valley pretty girlies, they're always so easy to colour (I've asked for some of the new ones for my birthday next week and its a suprise which ones I get so I just can't wait).  I started off making this with the LOTV challenge in mind but didn't get it finished in time! not that it matters, but it did make me think outside the box a bit because it was a peaches and cream challenge. I haven't got those colours in copics so I went back to my promarkers and brought in more colour with my prismacolor pencils, I think it worked in the end.  I decided to go the whole fairy thing and give her a real helping of glitter - dres,s wings, shoes wand - the whole shebang as well as the roses, have to say I'm not usually a glitter girl but I did like what it did for this card, I don't think glitter photographs very well as its making it look sort of dirty - but I promise its not its lovely and glittery.

the inside

I don't always photograph the inside of the cards I make but this is such a sweet message I thought it need an outing!  It was cut very simply from spellbinders labels sixteen to match the front and the sentiment is from a Whiff of Joy text set of nine called Magical Wishes.  The tiny buterflies are a fikars punch I picked up in a local craft shop sale bin for 50p- bargin!

You can see the glitter better in

The Secrets out!!

Hi blog friends

Well I just couldn't wait a second longer to tell my secret!  I'm sooo excited.

I just got my 1st DT team place with Fab'n'Funky challenges, I only started blogging this year - my new years resolution, even though I've been following craft blgs for ages now, it was just taking the plunge - and it makes the blogging much more fun too.   I've enjoyed it so much I've already met such a lot of lovely people and it gives me a reason to make my cards.

Being on the Fab -Fab'n'Funky design team means I've got even more excuse to make more cards - with lots of inspiration thrown in. The girls have all been so welcoming and helpful to a newbie like me - special big hugs to Wendy for helping me get my 1st DT card posted when I was having problems - you're a star - if I had an award I'd give it to you x

Congrats to the other newbie DT members Sheila and Judit - I'm sure we'll all muddle along together girls!   I think I know how Meryl Streep felt at the Oscars - this is my Oscar speech - and I'd better shut up before I get boo'd off  lol.

So here it is my 1st ever DT card, as soon as I saw the theme for the week I knew I had the perfect stamp. The theme is leap into action - in honour of leap year and sponsored by Joanna Sheen.   The prize is £10 to spend in store and I'm sure you can all come up with some creative ideas of leaping things, animals, people - anything to celebrate our once-in-four-years day. So hop on over to the challenge blog and do your worst - or should that be best!!

My favourite colour - green

Hi blog friends

I've had a really exciting weekend - but shh its a secret so I'll have to tell you later!!
Started this card last night and got up early this morning to finish it.  My favourite colour is green, I often make pink and green cards but when I saw the challenge on Fab 'n' funky challenges this week was green, blue and white I had to give it a go.  Is not a combination I've used recently - if ever but I think I love it.

close up of the details

What I did...

Stamp image - Lili of the valley - coffee break
Flower stamp (around outer card) and sentiment stamp- Dawn Bibby woodland deer and cup cake

Papers - K & Co sweet nectar
Coloured with - copics and prismacolor pencils
Pearls - kaisercraft
Flower - wild orchid inside of prima
Lace and vintage seambinding ribbon  - from my stash

I didn't want to go overboard with the embellishments because the bright colours are enough by themselves withour too much clutter (thats a technical term!).  Think I need to expand my blue and green colour pallet - I can feel another birthday present coming on!

Must go off to do some ironing - I know boring - but going to the cinema tonight to see "the Artist" and if we want to go out dressed in clothes tomorrow its getting to be a must!

Little miss muffet challenges - fancy or lace

Love, hearts and a first kiss!

Hi  again

I knew straight away today I had to use my  absolute favourite Stampavie stamp - first kiss, I just love this stamp.

I went looking for some papers in my stash with a heart theme and found these from Dovecraft called Glamour Prints.  I've had them for ages and haven't used them all that much because some of them are very bright - like these ones!  But I decided to rise to the challenge.  I used purple card to tone in from bazzill and toned it down a bit using a pale pink chalk.  The image was coloured with promarkers and prismacolor pencils and the heart and frame were cut with spellbinders die.  The border is a new Martha Stewart punch and the "Love" and swirl were cut with my cricut expression machine from Tie the knot and Cindy Loo cartridges.  The flowers are from Prima and the crystal embelishments bought from ebay.  The best bit of all - the lovely little embellie in the middle of the large flower - recycled from a christmas card I received - thank you M&S!  I was really pleased with this when it was finished having been very unsure about the colours at the start - it just goes to show that you have to just go with it some times.

Challenges entered with this card
Stampavie and more: Challenge #159 - Hearts  -love stampavie - great stamps - great challenges

Simon Says challenge - my new Martha Stewart Punch
