Inspired by nature at fab'n'Funky challenges

Good morning all

There's a new challenge kicking off at Fab'n'Funky challenges this week
and our lovely Buffy has chosen a great heme for us

She has used photographs from her summer travels to provide inspiration and has set the theme

Come outside
(Inspired by nature)

You could take inspiration in any way you choose - a photograph - the colours - anything that these photographs make you feel

My card reflects on the beauty of nature

This is an 8 x 8 card using stamps and sentiment from Sheena Douglass

This is what I did....
Butterfly and sentiment stamps- A little bit sketchy - the butterfly effect
Grasses Stamp  - A little bit scenic - silhouette grasses
Coloured with Spectrum aquablend pens to give a vey pale pretty effect
Butterfly dies - crafters companion

Hope you can join in with us this week

Baby, Baby,Baby

Good morning all

I thought I'd just call in and share a couple of my baby projects from the past few weeks

My Grand daughter Eva was Christened last weekend and I designed and made the invitations

I used the lovely entwined dies from Leonie Pujol
- when I saw them I just knew they were perfect fo rthe purpose !

by the time Id finished making 25 I wasn't sure that they were quite the best choice!
they were a lot of work- but I loved them anyway : )

As you'll notice they're not identical - but I decided to ring the changes a bit by varying the details - I like to do that with invitations - as I always say - they're not shoes - they don't have to match!!

My second make was bunting to decorate our conservatory - I made this with an assortment of papers and dies and I really loved making this, there was about 30 feet of it in total - no small task and I developed a system after I made the first 6 ft length far to complicated!

It was a totally girly - butterflies and flowers theme
- I haven't taken them down yet they just look so pretty
but they're going to be put up in her bedroom so all is not lost

I'm going to do a tutorial on how I made these - it was incredibly easy and very satisfying to see all the little finished pennants - and not 2 alike!  I cut the bunting at 6 inches and added a label to each then used a Tim Holtz alphabet die for the lettering and the butterflies and flowers were all Sara Davies English Country Garden signature collection dies, the hearts were the freebies from Crafter's Inspiration magazine.

They look so summery up around my conservatory - a real touch of summer
- I may need to make some autumn ones to replace them when I take them down
watch this space!!

Another sneaky little Christmas card!

Good morning all

It's challenge day for me again at

Winter Wonderland
(another chance to make another card for the Christmas pile!)

our theme this week is

Punches and Dies
or
add a charm
- always an easy one

using Well wrapped up from The Paper Shelter
available here

We are being sponsored this week by

a real favourite of mine
(I've been on the DT for years!!)

The thing I like best about the images you get at TPS is that there are always line drawings, coloured versions and matching papers for each image and that gives you great choice when it comes to making projects.
For my card I decided to take the quick and easy option and use the precoloured image and matching paper to layer up, I fussy cut around the image and went around the image and the paper edges with gathered twigs DI then I mounted her with 3d glue gel, added some die cuts to embellish and a liberal slathering (don't you just love that word!!) of glitter jewels over the dies - and voila a quick and easy card!!  There are a certain number of images from TPS that really work well for this method and the image just stands out so well on the card, I really like the effect.

This is what I did....

Image and papers - well wrapped up from TPS
Dies snowflake border - memory box
        tree - mariannes
winter words - by tim holtz for sizzix
Glitter jewels  from creative expressions
Distress ink - gathered twigs from Tim Holtz

Hope you'll join in with us at Winter Wonderland Challenge this week
