Vintage is in style at MAWTT this week

Good morning all

We have a new challenge for you at

Moving Along With The Times

  - it seems like ages since I posted a  MAWTT  DT card -firstly because we are down to fortnightly for the holidays and then with only joining in on alternative challenges - its been a whole month!!

The theme this challenge is

 Vintage

I think it's one of those themes you either love or hate!  - I love vintage style - in a toned down sort of way.  I don't like to go overboard with embellies - which people often do with vintage - for me it is more in the papers and colours, a little bit of DI to tone it all down - and of course the style of the image.

I chose to use this cute image from Tidly Inks - and take the opportunity to make another Christmas card, I think vintage style is great for Christmas cards

This lil' cutie is from Tiddly Inks
and is called  "Wryn Goes Carolling" available here

I'm planning to use her in a few colour combos for my Christmas cards this year and I'll use up those piles of vintage Christmas papers I've accumulated!! - these ones are a MME Lost and Found Christmas special edition - I love them, especially those vintage turquoise colours that I've distressed with Tea Die DI

This is what I did...

Image -Wryn goes carolling from Tiddly Inks
coloured with Copics and Prismacolor pencils

Distress ink - Tea die from Tim Holtz
Holly Die - Memory box

I hope I've inspired you to make a vintage card for our challenge at  MAWTT - you have a whole two weeks to do it - and it would be a really great way to help your Christmas cards on their way if you did that too!

I used this cute image from Sassy Studios -one of our sponsors this week

I thought she needed a fairly simple pretty and demure design  to compliment her fairly simple, pretty, demure looks!
I got this paper free with a magazine ages ago - they are Websters Papers and on the front it says a combo of Western Romance and All About Me - they are very pretty pale coloured papers and I thought they were perfect for Miss Elizabeth Laura

Are you ready for cute and cuddly and a KISS!?

Good morning all

We're back with our new challenge for the month at

Crafty Little Fairies

and our theme for this challenge is

Cute and Cuddly

I decided to make the most of this theme and make a Christmas card
with a cute and cuddly James bear from LOTV

I decided to go a little bit on the vintage side with this one
I used the MME lost and found papers as my inspiration and coloured James to match!
Just a few embellies and die cuts to finish and it was quite a quick card to make really.
My go to bear copic colours
I used my black prismacolour pencil to tone the colours down - I always find this works well when trying for a vintage look - gives that dark worn out look - I wonder if someone's used that on me lately lol!!

Considering I was a bit lacking in inspiration when I started this one I was pleased with how it turned out
 - its what I call a KISS card - when I have no direction go for a KISS!

To enlighten those not in the know - it's the idiots Cas card!!!

Keep It Simple Stupid!!

This is what I did...
Image - James bear from LOTV
Coloured with copics and Prismacolour pencils

Shaped card - Craftwork Cards

Good morning all

Well another week has passed and I'm back again - where do these weeks go!

I've had another busy week doing goodness knows what! - my son Tom went to the commonwealth games in Glasgow and we had a couple of lovely days away (then another day out yesterday!)  in Northumberland, a visit to Eden Camp in North Yorkshire where we also took my Mother - she enjoyed reliving her WWII days - its a really interesting day out and the sun shone all day - so relaxing (and busy) and yet again - not much time for crafting - in spite of  my card theme this week - for me sun and craft don't mix well for me just now!!
