Happy New year! MerryChristmas!

Good morning all

I hope you all had a lovely Christmas and New Year!
We had a break over on the Fab'n'Funky Challenges blog until last week and I had intended to start off the year with our new challenge , unfortunately my blog year didn't get off to a very good start as our internet went down last week with what BT termed -' a major fault', we were down until Friday so  I just decided to write off the week and start back this week with our  new challenge set by our lovely Monika

She has chosen the theme

Angels

it seemed to me to be a great opportunity to get off to a flying start with this year's Christmas cards - so here we go with Christmas card number one for 2020!!!

I made the task fairly simple by using an image from one of the Hunky Dory little books, there are 4 of each image in the book and I've already used one of these images before, its so pretty and delicate - as well as being very cute - a perfect little angel

This is what I did.....

Image - from Hunky Dory little book
Silver mirri card and blue card from Crafter's Companion
Poinsettia die - Memory box
Merry Christmas die - Crafter's Companion
Paper - an old LOTV paper pad
Gems and ribbon from my stash

I hope you'll come over and join in with our chalenge this week!

Hapy new Year and merry Christmas

It's Wedding season - join in with us at Fab'n'Funky

Good morning all

Greetings from not so sunny Florida where I'm still on holiday
- lot's of rain the last couple of days but under the lanai by the pool where I camp out it doesn't much matter - it's hot rain and I can while away the time with my book and wait until the sun comes out again 😎

It's challenge day at Fab'n'Funky Challenges again
(these Wednesdays come round so fast! )

and our theme this week
chosen and hosted by our lovely Neva is

Wedding

so let's see your Wedding cards, boxes and decorations

and inside with a pocket for a gift voucher

I made this one a while ago for a special friend  - I love that Lili of the valley stamp - I've used it so many times for wedding cards , you can sort of personalise the colouring with hair colour and wedding theme colour.  The papers are also LOTV I think and I think the die inside is from creative expressions.  I added a little pocket inside for a gift card and it was all boxed up in a matching box tied up with a big bow!

hope you'll join in with our challenge this week

Hugs

and yet again - it's Christmas!! - and it might be cancelled due to injury lol

Hi all

Well - some days just don't go to plan at all and this was one of them!
I was supposed to come back early and post this post but.....

I usually do a late morning session with a personal trainer at the gym on Wednesdays but he had an early session cancellation this morning so off I went. I just got the the end of some bench dips (technical term I know lol) when I sort of twisted awkwardly as I stood up and pulled a muscle in my upper chest - just what I need - I think I'll live but I sooo hate being out of action.  I decided to soldier on like the martyr I am and did my Aldi shopping on the way home (so i didn't have to go out again), put it away, had a snack, made a tagine for dinner and put that in on a slow cook, tidied around like you do - then I sat down and fell asleep lol.

So how do I feel now - I'm not sure, definitely I can feel it when I 'push'  - I've got this pushy pepper mill thing and that was sooo painful to put pepper in the tagine lol.  I'm just hoping I wake up better in the morning - I really want to do my spin class tomorrow night lol.  Have I got a problem - probably, I'm a spinning addict I think.  Don't worry I won't do anything stupid but I'm so annoyed with myself, I just started a 6 week fitness challenge last night and it looks like I've fallen at the first hurdle - the best laid plans as they say!!

Anyway enough of my moaning back to the real blogging reason

it's our  Christmas challenge week at

and the theme is just

Anything Christmas

I love art pads for Christmas cards, if you're going to make your own Christmas cards every little helps when it comes to quicker makes -the LOTV ones are particularly cute

This is what I did
Image - LOTV (artpad)
papers - from a very old papermania pack
sentiment stamp - Anna Griffin
snowflake die - whimsystamps
craft card and various odds and ends from my stash

Still very much on the use up the stash thing - and it would save me a fortune if I stopped buying new stuff lol

Have a great week everyone

and christmas is still going on here!

hi all

I'm late with my post today - having a busy day/week!

It's hubby's birthday tomorrow and it s a big one! - sixty years young, not only that but our best friend had that same birthday yesterday so it's been a few of busy crafting days making not theeasiest thing - special men cards and trying desparately to finish off a keepsake book - that's still not finished, maybe it'll come in handy for 65 or 70 lol

Today's other big event was a trip to the dentist to have a tooth capped, it had a filling in that had cracked - yuk, never mind all done now.

I'm still in Christmas card making mode and decided to make a few quick easy cards with some of my artpads.  This one is from a lili of the valley pad I've had for ages ans I also used some paper from an old LOTV Christmas paper pad and a Dovecraft paper pack

We have a Christmas Challenge over at

this week - so this came in very handy!
I'm really enjoying using up my old Christmas stash and I'm determined to keep going with it - just slap my hands if you see me going near a Christmas stamp, die or paper pad lol.  There are some lovely cards on the blog this week for Christmas inspiration - hop o over and see what we all made - and get out your stash to enter our challenge ad to add to your Christmas pile for next Christmas

Let's all make it a bright Christmas this year!!

Good morning all

So there's another month gone by and it's the last week of April already

so that means we have another Christmas challenge at

Fab'n'Funky Challenges

our lovely Buffy has chosen the theme

Bright Christmas

I had to have a little hunt around to see what I had in my unblogged cards for Christmas as I didn't have time to make a card before we left to go on holiday (yes I'm not really here!!)
I made a whole batch of these cards last Christmas - all 8x8 inch - they made lovely special Christmas cards for the family -I  hope I've got a few of these images left for this year, these artpads really help out at Christmas when the pressure's on!
I think this card will pass for bright - it's got a lovely bright red ribbon and holly berries and with the white background on the paper it's definitely not dark!!

our lovely sponsor this week- for the last time is Bunny Zoes crafts
who are offering a fab prize of a £1o voucher to spend in store
not only that but as there is also 30% off in store - so even more crafty goodies!

This is what I did...

Image is from a LOTV art pad of the cute James bear
Papers - also LOTV
Sentiment - prodiced in word
Holly die cut - Wild rose
Gems and ribbon from my stash
stickles added to his hat for a little extra sparkle

Hope you'll join in with us at Fab'n'Funky this week

It's that Chistmas thing again at fab'n'Funky Challenges

Hi all

I hope you've all recovered from all those chocolate eggs!!
We had a lovely if not busy Easter weekend with birthdays galore then a lovely (if not cold!) day out yesterday at Alnwick garden.  What with all these birthday cards to make I haven't had a lot of time to get down to my DT work so I pulled out a Christmas card I had in reserve for such occasions lol.

This is a cute card made with one of the LOTV art pads that we will all miss
featuring the cute James Bear

It's a large 8x8 inch card using (also sadly missed) LOTV Christmas paper pad!

We are sponsored this week by the fabulous KennyK stamps

there's a purple 'thing' going on at MAWTT!

Good morning all

It's another one of those Thursdays when I have a DT card to post for

where do the weeks go!

This time we want to see

Purple

not a colour I use a lot - not for any particular reason - I think I must forget about it now,
And yet (as any good Donny Osmond fan knows!!) it was Donny's colour and I had a lovely purple bedroom in honour of that when I was a young teenager -it's funny how things come back to you.  I remember being allowed to plaster my walls with pop posters,( the Osmonds, The Jackson five, Marc Bolan, David Bowie, David Essex, The New Seekers. the O'Jays ..... what a collection, all because the man that my Mam got in to wallpaper put the pattern of the paper on upside down!! - happy days - how I'd love that happy carefree place now, my lovely purple room with my posters and music - and my dog Kim, Radio Luxemburg and the Fab 208 magazine - oh I'm really off on a memory trip here - and cream eggs! - why do cream eggs pop into my mind, I haven't had one for years - and all this because of purple : )

This week I have made 3 purple thede cards  one posted yesterday and  one today and I haveanother  following tomorrow - a bit like buses lol

I've had this pretty stamp from LOTV for a little while and never used it, I bought it because I love tulips - so for today's card purple tulips seemed the perfect thing to do! - and I'm still on the watercolour pencils thing! - I just love them, so quick and easy to use

This is what I did....

Image - Tulips from LOTV
Coloured with Spectrum Noir Watercolour pencils and Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pens
Pencil colours - Iris, hyacinth, wild orchid, cypress, sorrell, beeswax, asphalt,
Sparkle colours - inspired violet, olive Jade, aquamarine, clear
Papers - Kimono from Crafter's Companion
Card - Cor'dnations from Crafters Companion
Frame die - Spellbinders
Square cut with sue Wilson noble die
Ribbon and gems from my stash

Hope you'll play along with us this week

It's a spotty dotty day at MAWTT

Good morning all

Hands up who's seen the sun this year - not me lol.  This has to be the wettest most miserable, grey start to any year ever!! - and it's getting colder too.

We had a lovely start to the year with a New Years Day wedding- the daughter of our very best friends.  But even that was  a grey and miserable day, I got hardly any photographs and not a single decent one of me (nothing new there!!) - it was just so dark that my black dress looked like a v neck jumper and my flouncy facinator/hat was like a shadow on my head!! - Still it was a lovely day and a very happy way to start off the year

It's also time to kick off the new year at

Moving Along with the Times

and our first challenge of the year is an easy one

Spots and Dots

My card is one that I made at Christmas
- in my last minute rush to finish my Christmas cards
it's a large 8 x8 inch card

I also got my lovely new car yesterday - I just love it - but I've pulled a muscle in my wrist pulling the hand brake on!! it's a different shape to the one in my last car - my DH says I'm not safe to be let out - maybe I should just stay in and craft instead : )

Get reading for our challenge at MAWTT this week

Morning all

I hope you are all waking up to a sunny morning this morning - it's lovely here in the frozen north!  Warm and not a cloud in the sky and the day has bearly begun.

I have to say I haven't had the best of nights - our house alarm kept going off - 3 times we got woken up with a start.  of course the first time you go looking for burglars in your sleepy stupor -  only to realise that as you  didn't actually  set the alarm it wouldn't be that!!

Turns out we've had a series of power cuts through the night  - that means that the alarm circuit is broken so it goes off automatically (my clever electric man husband tells me) and as the back up battery in the alarm must be flat there's nothing to stop it - all I know is I haven't had a good night's sleep.  As for alarms we don't and never have used the blooming thing - it just came with the house - hands up who thinks alarms are a total waste of time - how many times have you rung the police when you heard one going off.... or do you just moan about the noise and ignore it?!

Anyway I digress....We have a great challenge for you at

Moving along with the Times

There's a boy thing going on at The Paper Shelter this week

Good morning all

Hope you are all well and happy-
I've been having a wonderful little time to myself over the last week!

I started off last Wednesday with a lovely trip to the theatre to see Wicked - I took my Mam along for  coffee and cake  (except I forgot my purse so she had to pay :  / ) - then we went to the afternoon matinee - it was just a fabulous show, I really loved it.  The only downside was that the girl who was playing the lead roll took in 45 minutes into the show and they had to stop the show for 30 minutes to get the understudy on - I assume that's how long it must take to paint someone green and get ready to take over the role!!

We then went off to Sorrento on the Amalfi coast in Italy for a looong weekend.  We went with our bestest friends and had just a wonderful time! -relaxing, eating out for drinks and sight seeing.  Pompeii was amazing - I was just totally in awe of  how advanced they were in this wonderful place while we were still living in mud huts! And the Isle of Capri was just so beautiful, it was such a lovely treat and a shame it was all over so soon.  Now I need to catch up on  my blogging and crafting - busy busy busy!!

But onto this weeks challenge at

The Paper Shelter

Our theme this week is

From one brother to another!

Good morning all

I hope you are all enjoying some sunshine where you live - it's been just lovely here this last few days (after the very wet, cold windy fiasco of Good Friday)  We had a lovely walk right over the hills with the dog yesterday then ate lunch outside at a little cafe in the village on the way back - it's just amazing what a little sunshine can do to cheer you up!

I hope our challenge at

 Fab'n'Funky Challenges

 will also cheer you up!

A close up of the sentiment tag

"What you do today is important
Because you are exchanging a day of your life for it"

My youngest son Tom asked me to make a card for him to give to his brother Matthew - it's actually his birthday next week but we are celebrating it today as he is going back up to Edinburgh today where he moved last year.  It's been lovely to see him over the Easter holidays  and he's enjoyed having his washing, ironing and cooking done for him while he's been home!!!  He starts a new job next Monday and has to go off on a training course in Nottingham so he's flying down there on Sunday evening- he doesn't half get himself about!! - so this card sort of suits him at the moment - always off somewhere -He just came back from Berlin last week where he went to do the Berlin half marathon and have his annual reunion with his housemates from Uni.  It was his first big run and he really enjoyed it, He raised about £200 in sponsor money for SCOPE (his brother Tom has Cerebral palsy, so it is a charity close to his heart)  -and had a great experience running through the streets of Berlin.

Anyway - back to the challenge!

Focus on the image at Fab'n'Funky challenges

Good morning all

What do you know it's Wednesday all over again!
The weeks are flying by, the days are getting longer and we've had sunshine!
It's lovely to think that another couple of weeks and it will be spring, I love when the weather gets warmer and we can have the doors and windows open and warmer weather.

We have a lovely challenge for you at

Fab'n'Funky Challenges

this week it is

Focus On the Image

What we want is - lots of image - few embellies and papers lol!

The image I used is the lovely Pansie
from Artbymiran available here

I have to confess that this is a bit less CAS than I would usually make for a challenge like this
- but.... and this is getting to be a bad habit of mine!
- I didn't read the challenge properly
Not that I put a whole card together or anything but I cut, coloured and glittered a whole batch of flowers and leaves to make a pretty big ornate card, only to realise that I wasn't supposed to be making that sort of card at all!! - but I just had to use at least one flower, so I allowed myself to use just one and hoped you wouldn't notice lol. - the rest will be following on another card I think.

Our lovely sponsor for this challenge is

and the prize is 3 digi images of the winner's choice

This is what I did.....

Image - Pansie by Artbymiram
Coloured with copics
Flower and leaf stamps - Sheen Douglas
Coloured with copics and TH distress inks
Glitter - Martha Stewart
Sentiment stamp- Its only words from Ladybird crafts
Paper - LOTV - timeless victorian
Stitched rectangle die - Mama Elephant

See - it is fairly CAS!

Hope you can be a bit more focused on the image than I was  - see you over at Fab'n'Funky

Challenges I'm entering with this card

Artbymiran - anything goes (19/3)
Fresh brewed - flowers (17/03)
