What's on your TV!

hi all

Click HERE to enter my 'happy candy' draw

So sorry I'm a bit late with my post today - I've had a busy time these last couple of days that as kept me away from my blog (and most other things!)  My regular visitors will know that my youngest son Tom has Cerebral Palsy which causes him to have severe physical disabilities - but he's also very bright and is now in the second year of his masters degree.  I regularly support him in his studies by acting as a reader and scribe.  He's been working on his dissertation proposal this week so it's been a busy old week work-wise - and not over yet!

None the less I've eventually escaped
to share my card for this weeks challenge at

Moving Along With The Times

Our theme is

Square Eyes
(your favourite TV programme)

I have to say I'm a bit selective with my TV viewing
but I do like a good old murder mystery!

I like programmes like Broadchurch and Silent Witness
but also the good old Agatha Christie one like
Miss Marple and Poirot

I think this card is more Miss Marple than Silent Witness!!

It reminded me of when first started work and used to travel there on the bus - I used to read Agatha Christie books to pass the time - I must have read dozens of them and they were really good!
I haven't read an Agatha Christie book for years now - happy days!!

I made this card with another of those fab Sheena Douglas stamp sets - they're such good quality and stamp beautifully every time.  I think this card is more masculine than feminine - but could be used for either as it has a definite vintage look - its a large 8 inch card  and looks quite good IRL.
I did think abourt adding some flowers but decided to leave it as it was to keep it simple!

This is what i did..

Stamp - Mystery Author from Sheena Douglas a little bit sketchy range
Sentiments - top of card Sheena Douglas 'I say' from a little bit sketchy range
bottom of card - produced in word
Ribbon - Crafty ribbons
Lace - Creative expressions
Papers - LOTV father knows best
Charm - from my stash
Pins - from my stash
Dies - Flag tail MFT
Perfect pearls and TH distress inks Tea dye, vintage linen

We'd love to see you at MAWTT to show us your favourite TV programme

Challenges I'm entering with this card

Incy wincy challenges - use punches or dies
open minded crafting - no pink no red

Summer fun with the crafty little Fairies - and me!! - and some photos

Hello crafty friends

Well I'm just about up to date with myself and thought I'd post my (late) DT card for

and just come to say a proper hello.

The theme is

Summer Fun

I'm sorry I haven't been around much-  you must have wondered where I was, but since I took early retirement  at the end of March my feet have barely touched the ground (well not at home anyway)

After I came back from my holiday in May and did my stint scribing for my son Tom for his uni work, I have then been doing a lot of late helping my cousin with her daughters wedding which culminated in a lovely 4 days in the Lakes District at the end of June for the wedding.  When we came home on the Sunday night my son Tom (who has cerebral palsy) had to be sorted out to go an activity holiday with his support worker to the Calvert Trust in Keilder on the Monday and I had a whole week off that week because my daughter had taken time off so I didn't have Jacob my grandson to look after either - great I thought I'll have some nice crafty time to myself - not so!! - my lovely hubby had booked us a short holiday to Corfu leaving the next morning (didn't he know I had cards to make lol!)  We had a lovely 4 days- just the two of us which we don't very often get he chance to do - got back in the early hours of last Sunday so I totally missed out last week altogether.

Anyway - back to the card lol. Its a very large 7x10 inch card, you must be groaning and saying - not those Sheen Douglas shell stamps again - but I just love them!! - With lots of summer themed challenges around I'm going to use them to death - so sorry but I'm sure there's more to come

Here's what I did.....

Sentiment - created in word (taken from a plaque I have in my conservatory)
Stamps - Sheena Douglas seashells
coloured with perfect pearls (another recent  addiction!)
Papers - (very ancient) K and Co no idea what theyre called
Card - Bazzill basics
pearls from my stash
Hessian ribbon - do crafts
palm tree die - MFT dienamics
fishtail flag die also dienamics

Here's a quick catch up of what I've been up to recently - in photos.....

dinner by the pool in Corfu - a great little hotel
my new conservatory furniture that arrived yesterday - love it!!
we're trying for Florida beach house style
to fit in with this challenge lol

the wedding outfit
(complete with those shoes - if you saw them a couple of posts back)

the lovely view from our room on lake Derwentwater - a little piece of heaven

Well I think that's about it for now - I'll be round to visit and catch up soon

Challenges I'm entering with this card

Live & Love craft - under the sea (31st July)
Natalie and Amys - Summertime  (31st July)
Crafting musketeers - summertime  (31st July)

A simple Thank You

Hi all

I have a fairly CAS card to share with you using a lovely poppy stamp from Sheena Douglas, I've loved this Stamp for ages and wanted to use it for my DT card for

as soon as I saw the theme for this weeks challenge which is

Keep it Simple

I always enjoy colouring floral cards and this one was no exception, It was supposed to be even more CAS than this but (here is confession time) I dropped my black ink pad onto it as I went to stamp the sentiment along the bottom - so had to do a repair job of the larger sentiment and ribbon grrr - i hate when that sort of thing happens when you've just spent an age colouring a card,

I'm sorry I'm late in with this card - things are still a bit topsy turvy around here just now - hopefully I'll get back on track before too long!

This is what I did....

Image - Poppies and daisies by Sheena Douglas
Coloured with Copics and prismacolor pencils
Aged effect stamp (around the edge) -Aging beautifully from a little bit sketchy by Sheena Douglas
Sentiment - Chalkboard sentiments from Anna Griffin
Card - Bazzil Basics
Ribbon - american crafts
Distress ink TH Tea dye
White Gel Pen

Challenges I'm entering with this card

Storyteller - Flowers
Stemplegarten - Flower dreams
Sweet stampin challenge -say it with flowers
