Love is in the air at the Paper Shelter

Good morning all

I hope you are all bright and breezy this morning
- a bit like the weather really - that's exactly how it is here
- with rain forecast too - boooo!

this week we have a

 Love theme

I've been a bit short on crafty time this past week - due to a now itchy and very spotty grandson, Jacob, with Chicken pox!! - so decided to take advantage of the precoloured inages at The Paper Shelter and also a little box and tag from an accessory set that matches perfectly
- a really quick and easy make

Using Kisses available here
and the sweetest girls printable kit available here

I also used a pretty frame some cute dies that I got in the sale at Sizzix

I toned down the white background on the image to a slightly creamy/beige to tone with the box
I then printed and cut out the box and tag  and stuck it together then decorated the tag with die cut letters from the tag set and some fine black ribbon on them both

As always we have a fabulous prize on offer

The gift voucher

This is what I did....

Image - Kisses from TPS
box and tag - from the sweetest girls printable kit
Paper - Free with a magazine
Card - Bazzill basics
Die cut frame - spellbinders
Hearts and kisses and Hearts and love dies - Sizzix
Fine organza ribbon - carnmeal cottage

Hope you'll join in with our challenge this week

Get reading for our challenge at MAWTT this week

Morning all

I hope you are all waking up to a sunny morning this morning - it's lovely here in the frozen north!  Warm and not a cloud in the sky and the day has bearly begun.

I have to say I haven't had the best of nights - our house alarm kept going off - 3 times we got woken up with a start.  of course the first time you go looking for burglars in your sleepy stupor -  only to realise that as you  didn't actually  set the alarm it wouldn't be that!!

Turns out we've had a series of power cuts through the night  - that means that the alarm circuit is broken so it goes off automatically (my clever electric man husband tells me) and as the back up battery in the alarm must be flat there's nothing to stop it - all I know is I haven't had a good night's sleep.  As for alarms we don't and never have used the blooming thing - it just came with the house - hands up who thinks alarms are a total waste of time - how many times have you rung the police when you heard one going off.... or do you just moan about the noise and ignore it?!

Anyway I digress....We have a great challenge for you at

Moving along with the Times

There's a boy thing going on at The Paper Shelter this week

Good morning all

Hope you are all well and happy-
I've been having a wonderful little time to myself over the last week!

I started off last Wednesday with a lovely trip to the theatre to see Wicked - I took my Mam along for  coffee and cake  (except I forgot my purse so she had to pay :  / ) - then we went to the afternoon matinee - it was just a fabulous show, I really loved it.  The only downside was that the girl who was playing the lead roll took in 45 minutes into the show and they had to stop the show for 30 minutes to get the understudy on - I assume that's how long it must take to paint someone green and get ready to take over the role!!

We then went off to Sorrento on the Amalfi coast in Italy for a looong weekend.  We went with our bestest friends and had just a wonderful time! -relaxing, eating out for drinks and sight seeing.  Pompeii was amazing - I was just totally in awe of  how advanced they were in this wonderful place while we were still living in mud huts! And the Isle of Capri was just so beautiful, it was such a lovely treat and a shame it was all over so soon.  Now I need to catch up on  my blogging and crafting - busy busy busy!!

But onto this weeks challenge at

The Paper Shelter

Our theme this week is

From one brother to another!

Good morning all

I hope you are all enjoying some sunshine where you live - it's been just lovely here this last few days (after the very wet, cold windy fiasco of Good Friday)  We had a lovely walk right over the hills with the dog yesterday then ate lunch outside at a little cafe in the village on the way back - it's just amazing what a little sunshine can do to cheer you up!

I hope our challenge at

 Fab'n'Funky Challenges

 will also cheer you up!

A close up of the sentiment tag

"What you do today is important
Because you are exchanging a day of your life for it"

My youngest son Tom asked me to make a card for him to give to his brother Matthew - it's actually his birthday next week but we are celebrating it today as he is going back up to Edinburgh today where he moved last year.  It's been lovely to see him over the Easter holidays  and he's enjoyed having his washing, ironing and cooking done for him while he's been home!!!  He starts a new job next Monday and has to go off on a training course in Nottingham so he's flying down there on Sunday evening- he doesn't half get himself about!! - so this card sort of suits him at the moment - always off somewhere -He just came back from Berlin last week where he went to do the Berlin half marathon and have his annual reunion with his housemates from Uni.  It was his first big run and he really enjoyed it, He raised about £200 in sponsor money for SCOPE (his brother Tom has Cerebral palsy, so it is a charity close to his heart)  -and had a great experience running through the streets of Berlin.

Anyway - back to the challenge!

Buttons for Easter!

Good morning all

Hope you are all having a really "Good Friday" !

I am certainly happy to be here to share some news that I have been sitting on for a week or two now!

The lovely Nikki at bunny Zoe's Crafts offered me a place on the DT at

and of course I said - yes please!

So here I am with my first DT post for my new DT

The theme is

Buttons

and it so reminds me of Easter when I was little when it seems (in my memory) that all Easter Eggs had chocolate buttons in - or milk tray!  .....you don't see milk tray eggs anymore now when I think about it - and I'm sure those eggs were a whole lot thicker chocolate than the ones you get now   Why do chocolate Easter Eggs taste so much better than a bar of chocolate - someone told me just this week it's to do with the air inside the egg!!
 - well what can you say to that!

Anyway I digress....
Here is my card for this fortnights challenge at Wags ' Whiskers
and unfortunately the buttons aren't chocolate!

using the cute Toby's Big Day
available here for Uk or here for US crafters

I decided to stick to fairly CAS for this card- just the cute image, the buttons and a few balloons!!
