Cute baby card

Hi Blog friends
Heres my 3 in a row for this week.  I'm so thriled to have been nominated for my very first blog award this week - not once but three times!! Thank you Pat P, Pat K and Nikki for thinking of me - I am honoured to accept the Leibster Award.

The origins of the Liebster Blog Award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, Liebster meaning favourite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs of note

Here's what to do on receiving your Award
1. Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
2. Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.
3. Copy and paste their blog award on your blog.
4. Present the Liebster Blog award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve recogniti
5. Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.

Here are the well deserved blogs I have chosen to pass the award to :

I made this card for a friend who just had a baby girl, it was lovely to  make a little girl card for a change, everyone has had boys for ages now so a lovely pink little baby is a real joy to do!  I got my copics out to do most of the colouring on this one - I so like the tone of the paler pinks and lemons in promarkers but I stuck to my tried and tested copics for the skin tones (E11, E00,E000,E0000,R30)   I used my new memory box swirl die for the first time on this card - I think I'm in love - its absolutely gorgeous - so delicate - think you might be seeing a bit more of this!  I followed the sketch from this weeks lillis little fairies challenge for this card,  I was happy with it on the whole but not sure if the design is a bit "top heavy" but I didn't want to add anthing else to the bottom as I think there's enough going on!

I've got exciting news x 2!!

Hi blog friends

Was just going to tell you all my exciting news when I looked at my blogger dashboard and got some more!!  I've just been given a place on the Creative Craft Challenges DT, I'm so excited and looking forward to getting going with it.  Have a DT card due next week so that's my project for tonight.  Thanks to all the girls on the DT for really warm welcome - I feel at home already - such a lovely friendly bunch and with a few of us new girls all starting together you've probably got your work cut out lol.

My second exciting news is I just found out  I've got a top 3 card in the Sentimental Sundays challenge last week - thank you to the DT at Sentimental Sundays for  that too - todays been a good day all round.  I've even got a card made today as well so crafty things can't get much better.

I wanted to use another of my cute new Saturated Canary digis so chose this one called Dorothy -yes that's Wizard of Oz style Dorothy, I think you'll agree  she's very cute.  I decided to go all out pretty for this one - pink, ribbon, flowers, pearls and butterflies - thought I'd hold on the glitter - there's such a thing as too much ha ha.

a close up of the detail

What I did....

Stamp - Dorothy -Saturated Canary
Paper - New Arrival from Docrafts Forever Friends
Flowers - Wild Orcid crafts
Coloured with - copics and Prismacolor pencils
Die Cuts - Spellbinders
Punches (corners and border, butterfly and leaves) - Martha Stewart
Pearls - Kaisercraft
Distress ink (around diecut for image) - Tim Holtz spun sugar
Pink card and seambinding ribbon - from my stash

I had a bit of a happy accident with the ribbon, I tied a double bow then cut through the wrong loop so ended up with a single bow with 3 lots of tails.  At the same time my absolute favourite Martha Stewart butterfly border punch that I use to cut out all the little butterflies totally jammed up - I managed to get one butterfly! I'll have another go with it tomorrow and try to rescue it :(

I'm entering this card for the following challenges

Dream Valley Challenges - Mothers Day/female themed creation
Delightful Challenges - Spring Colours
A gem of a challenge - Perfect pastels
Incy Wincy Designs - something old (punches)/something new(digi stamp)
Ladybug Ink challenge blog - Pink and girly (104)
Stampalot Challenge - take inspiration -inspiration came from the pretty stamp
Well that's me for today

See you tomorrow

Hugs
