Hi again blog friends

As soon as I saw this image I knew that this was my cute and cuddly card - cos this little girls cute and the bunnys cuddly!  I also knew I had the perfect paper to go with that checky trim on her dress.  I got these papers free with Simply Cards and Papercraft magazine.  They are from Websters Pages and are a collection of 36 papers in a 6x6 pad, quite the best giveaway I've had from a magazine cos all the papers are fab, I've used them a few times now .  I wanted to give this card a vintage look so I used only black and dark umber pencils for the shading.

This is what I did ....

Digi stamp - Mos digital pencil - Easter Bunny
Coloured with - Copics and Prismacolor pencils
Papers - Websters collection combo pack
Flowers - Prima
Pearls - Kaisercraft
Sentiment - Dawn Bibby Woodland Friends
Kraft card and ribbon from my stash

Hi there blog friends

Here I am with my very late post!  I've had a total nightmare with blogger over the last few days - could only get in for about 10 minutes at a time before getting booted out and up loading photos was nigh on impossible - just about did my head in!!  So sorry  that I haven't been visiting these last couple of days but to be honest I just gave up - I'll try and do a catch up x

Anyway back to the real business

Today is challenge day at Fab'n'Funky challenges and the theme is

Make an Easter card

a closer look at the detail

We are being sponsored this week by

I just loved this little girl when I  saw her -a perfect Easter image and I could just see her in a little denim dress and black shiny shoes - so thats what she got.  I decided to bling up her Easter eggs with different coloured glitters and then I couldn't stop! So she got glitter on her dress, in her hair flowers and the bow on her basket, only the bunny escaped but if he'd had a bow round his neck he'd have got it too - funny how glitter does that to you lol!  After all that glitter I thought I'd better hold back on too many embellies

This is what I did ...

Image - Easter Kiko from Mos digital pencil
Coloured with - Copics and Prismacolor pencils
Scalloped card - Craftwork cards
Lilac card- Bazzill basics
Papers - Prima Meadow Lark
Ribbon - Carnmeal Cottage
Flowers - Wild Orchid crafts sweetheart blooms

Creative Craft challenge -anything but a card

Hi there blog friends

Its challenge day again over at  Creative Craft Challenge  and this weeks theme is

Anything but a card

Our sponsors for this challenge are Some Odd Girl

My anything (but a card!) is a plaque to go on my baby grandson Jacobs' bedroom door

His bedroom is decorated in the same jungle theme with the shapes all cut on the Cricut Expression.  This plaque is made of card but the ones we made for the bedroom were cut in vinyl and look lovely and colourful.  I still don't have a photo of the finished walls but heres a peak of part of it at the end of our first session - it took about 4 afternoons to finish it (especially as Jacob put in an early appearance and was there to supervise the last two!!)

The finished room has a lion, tiger, rhino, zebra more swinging monkeys, flowers and all sorts!  Its very colourful and looks great. The walls  are a pale green and the room has all sorts of jungle themed soft furnishings that came from Verbaudet.

This is what I did ....

I used mainly the Zoo Baloo, Stretch the Imagination and Paper Dolls for Everyday cartridges
The card is Bazzill - it has such lovely textures that I  think you can partly see in the photo.
The little flowers are from Wild Orchid - sweetheart flowers

That is basically it - very simple really.  The only other thing I'd add is that for making a project like this, where there is a lot of measuring up to fit all the elements into a small space, I find the Cricut Gypsy invaluable, you can just layer everything up on your screen and see that its going to work before you start to cut it out  - and you can do it all sitting on the sofa watching TV at the same time, not standing over a cutting machine or on a computer - very easy.

Lets see you all over at Creative Craft Challenge with your anything! (but a card).  The DT girls have come up with some very creative ideas that might just inspire you  - hope to see you there x

Im entering this "anything"! into the folowing challenges

Sundays with Crissy - Animals (birds, animals and name are all 3d)
Forever Friends - 3d
Challenge up your life - zoo animals
Robyns fettish - kids card (don't know if i'm pushing it with this one but it is made of card and definately for a kid!!)
Well thats all from me now

Hugs

Its challenge day at My time to Craft

Hi Blog friends

Today is challenge day at My Time to Craft and the theme for this fortnight is

Make an Easel Card

I'm not big on easel cards and haven't made one for ages but I did enjoy making this card and I might just do it again soon. I think the only thing about easel cards is that not everyone (as in non crafters!) knows what to do with them.

I made this card for my daughters birthday - her birthday is actually today - Happy birthday Alison.  Not that she'll be reading this because she's gone to Centre Parks in the Lake District for the week with her husband and little baby son, to celebrate her birthday (today) her husbands birthday (also today) and their wedding anniversary (also today) !!!

I got some new papers through the week and just love them.  As soon as I saw this one - its sunkiss from prima - I knew what I was going to do with this card, isn't it great when that happens - certainly gets the mojo going

a close up of the detail

the base of the card
This is what I did

Papers - Sunkiss by prima
Stamp - Pretty bouquet by Lili of the Valley
Coloured with - Copics and Prismacolor pencils

Sentiment -  with Paintbox poppets from Crafters Companion
Diecut (behind sentiment) spellbinders
Ribbon - Carnmeal Cottage
pearls from my stash

So let's see you over at My Time to Craft with your easel cards and go on over and have a look at the other DT girls cards - we really have got some stunning cards this week

Iam enrering this card into the following challenges

Cute baby card

Hi Blog friends
Heres my 3 in a row for this week.  I'm so thriled to have been nominated for my very first blog award this week - not once but three times!! Thank you Pat P, Pat K and Nikki for thinking of me - I am honoured to accept the Leibster Award.

The origins of the Liebster Blog Award are somewhat unclear but the general consensus is that it originated in Germany, Liebster meaning favourite or dearest, to showcase bloggers with fewer than 200 followers. Upon accepting the award the recipient must then pass it on to five more blogs of note

Here's what to do on receiving your Award
1. Thank your Liebster Blog Award presenter on your blog.
2. Link back to the blogger who presented the award to you.
3. Copy and paste their blog award on your blog.
4. Present the Liebster Blog award to 5 blogs of 200 followers or less who you feel deserve recogniti
5. Let them know they have been chosen by leaving a comment at their blog.
Here are the well deserved blogs I have chosen to pass the award to :

I made this card for a friend who just had a baby girl, it was lovely to  make a little girl card for a change, everyone has had boys for ages now so a lovely pink little baby is a real joy to do!  I got my copics out to do most of the colouring on this one - I so like the tone of the paler pinks and lemons in promarkers but I stuck to my tried and tested copics for the skin tones (E11, E00,E000,E0000,R30)   I used my new memory box swirl die for the first time on this card - I think I'm in love - its absolutely gorgeous - so delicate - think you might be seeing a bit more of this!  I followed the sketch from this weeks lillis little fairies challenge for this card,  I was happy with it on the whole but not sure if the design is a bit "top heavy" but I didn't want to add anthing else to the bottom as I think there's enough going on!

What I did....

Image and new baby sentiment- LOTV (baby with teddy image)
Coloured with - promarkers, copics and prismacolor pencils
Papers - Forever Friends - new arrival
Pink card - Cordinations christmas pastels
Swirl - memory box

So hop over and take a peek at the Fab DT cards  on the blog.

I used the cute Cindy Ears for my DT card

a close up of the details

I've had a weird and wonderful week this week (so whats new!!), on Tuesday Morning I found out i had won Lisa Janes blog candy draw - yes our Lisa Jane who is the MAWTT host this week (see above), thanks so much sweetie and I have to tell you my postman is going to start getting worried cos theres some serious stalking about to start!!  Yesterday I got a top 3 in the inky impressions challenge.  But Tuesday night was my absolute corker....

Have you ever gone out in the wrong car!  I'm sure you must be wondering what on earth I'm talking about - surely all cars are the same at the end of the day? Well the answer is definately no.  I had taken my son Tom to sea scouts on Tuesday night - about 20 minutes away from home.  Rushed back to get some cards finished off and then went back to collect him for 9:30, that was when the fun began.  Tom who is 19 is a power wheelchair user because he has severe physical disabilities as he has cerebral palsy - not that much stops him - he's doing a degree at university , his duke of edinburgh award, sea scouts all sorts, anyway back to Tuesday.  Got back down to the sailing club to pick him up and got out of the car to discover I had just driven there in my Ford Fiesta - anyone ever tried to get a HUGE power wheelchair in the back of a ford fiesta!!  Tom and all at sea scouts thought it was hilarious, but I had to drive back home, change to Toms adapted car with the drive in ramp and drive back to get him.  By the time we got home and sorted it was after 11 and I'd had enough - just went to bed .  As typical of when these things happen my hubby was working away that night so had to rush around and do everything myself and to be honest I haven't caught up with the things (crafty things of course) that I wanted to do.  I could say I won't do that again but as my husband said - its typical me - my heads always full of something else!!  Anyway back to work today so still no crafting:(

Anyway back to the card
This is what I did......

Fab'n'Funky Challenges new challenge today

Hi blog friends

Its Wednesday so that means a new challenge at Fab'n'Funky challenges.  This week the theme is

In Honour of Mum
We are lucky enough to be sponsored by the fabulous Doodle Pantry  this week

The DT girls were given some gorgeous digis to play with.  I chose  these cute little birds  and a sentiment to use on my card and this was my Mums mothers day card - which she loved.  I also made her a small scrapbook of some of our old black and white family photos.  She had given them all to me when she moved to a smaller bungalow a few years ago, but we had them out a few weeks ago (trying to decide who our new baby grandson looked like - like you do!) and she seemed to really enjoy them so that's when I decided to make the scrapbook as a mothers day gift.   It took me days of scanning and resizing them to get them all ready to go into the scrapbook.  It was lovely when it was finished and she really liked having her old photos newly printed and all in one place and looking a good deal better than the originals did! - these photo programs are so clever, it even made me look clever as well ha ha.

This is what I did....

Stamp - everyday birdies from Doodle Pantry
Coloured with - Copics and Prismacolor pencils
Papers - from my stash (could be from Kanban I think)
Button punch - Martha Stewart
Daffodils - Wild orchid crafts
craft card basket distressed with Tim Holtz tea die distress ink

Little fairy girl

Hi there blog friends
Hope you all had a great weekend, I don't know where weekends go, I don't often have much crafty time at weekends unless its a rainy Saturday afternoon or something like that, we always are out and about and Sunday is always a family day.

The weather was beautiful here on Saturday and we took the dog on a long walk over the fields up to the next village along the coast and sat and had coffee and cakes outside at a litle cafe we often go to.  On Sunday we had a tea party for the grannies (as our mothers are known!) for mothers day and I baked cakes and pies and made little posh sandwiches and thoroughly enjoyed it, my daughter entertained the grannies and the men sat in the conservatory and listened to the football  It makes me sound like a real domestic goddess  - I wish!!  - can't even remember the last time I made a corned beef and potato pie before that, but even if I say so myself it was delish and the cakes were disapearing before
they got to the tea table - sounds like little house on the prarie doesn't it but sometimes its just so nice to slow down and do ordinary things at home and not have to rush around.

I started to do some colouring last night withmy new copic colours - lovely! - had a couple of DT cards to do and particularly wanted to enter the LOTV challenge this week because I'd got 6 new stamps from the new release  as part of my birthday pressie from my daughter. couldn't believe when I saw the new challenge was fairies and butterflies because  there are no fairies in the new release just one little girl  who looks like she might be dressed as a fairy so I used her and made some butterfly embellies to fit with the buttefly part of the challenge

 - don't think thats very good planning Lillis little fairies  - releasing new stamps then  having a challenge that you can't use them in!!

a close up of all the glittery bits!
This is what I did ...

Stamp - LOTV - wish upon a star

I also got two lovely nominations for blog awards from two of my favouite bloggers in the last couple of days  -lovely ladies you know who you are!!  I'll be back tomorrow to tell you about them - this post is already starting to look like a novel !!

Challenge day at Creative Craft Challenges

Hi Blog Friends

Its challenge day over at The creative craft challenge blog,  this week is a bit of a tricky one - one to get your creativity going.  Its an inspirational piccie by Sandra and it certainly got the DT girls going.  It was my first challenge since joining the team and half scared me to death!!

Use this picture as your inspiration!

We are being sponsored by Love to stamp who will offer 1 little darlings stamp of winners Choice!!!!! how great is that?

and the top 3 winner will also be offered a GDT spot

I really needed to think about this one - don't have a lot of black and pink combo in my stash but I found this lovely black and pink card from a Kanban collection I had with just one sheet left and I was away!  I had this image in mind to use from the begining just needed to do something with her!  I hadn't been brave enough to colour large clothes areas with black before, but I decided to go for it with  prismacolor pencils in black and shades of grey and I think it just about did the job - so I even learned something new by taking up this challenge!!

This was a really fun challenge to do so come on - get your brains into gear and see what you can come up with - it could be be pink/black/stars/hearts, stripes/checks/white/with words - or maybe this inspires you to do something totally different, either way hop on over to CCC and lets see your creations.

This is what I did....

Digi Stamp - Whispy Fairy fom Saturated Canary
Paper - Kanban and K&co
Glitter card- Create and craft
Die cuts - Cricut impressions cartridges Wall Decor and More and Once Upon a Princess
Coloured with copics and prismaclor pencils
Sentiment tag - spritz with perfect pearls pink bubblegum

Thats all from me today - see you over at creative craft challenge - go on you know you want to!!

Hugs

Totally mad - but its nice here!

Hi Blog friends

Just when I thought things couldn't get any better - they just did - you best pull up a chair and grab a coffee for this one!!

When I decided to start my own blog to post the cards I made I decided that I'd really love to be on a design team because it would be a really nice way to make friends and give me challenges for making cards, it always seems so much easier when someone else tells you what to do!  Anyway to get to the point there were a few DT calls around I kept looking until I found the ones that looked the very best and I applied.  I got the very first one I applied for and I was absolutely thrilled to bits to think that someone thought I was really good enough to do it.  I thought it would be perfect if I could get another one so I waited to see what happened to my applications, I was just gobsmacked as the weeks have gone by that one after another I got them all!

So today I'm now also a member of two more fantastic DTs

Moving along with the Times and My time to Craft

Thank you to all you lovely ladies who voted for me to be part of you teams and for giving me such a warm welcome - I'm getting to know you all and enjoying every moment, I'm putting in a bit of extra effort to get on track but anyone who knows me knows I never do things by half - its all or nothing and I'm just looking forward to it all so much.  I'm sure some of you must be thinking I'm totally mad - yes I think I probably am - but its nice here!!

I even have a card to post on top of the excitement  I should have done it last night but I dropped a black inkpad onto it and had to redo the whole image again -but even that can't upset me I like the second one better - I coloured it a bit lighter.  I had to photograph it in electric light so the sentiment's not very clear - but its a mothers day card

No card - just a baby!

Hi All

Just thought I'd do a quick post - no card today having a really busy week.  I do all the typing up for my son Tom who's 19 and doing a degree in film and media - hes really clever but is severely disabled with cerebral palsy so needs someone to write up for him and turn the pages in his books  Hes got an essay and 2 presentations due by Wednesday so my fingers are down to the bone with this keyboard.  If you want to know anything about world war II cinema or James Bond I'm your girl - I'm getting such an education.

Also got a cute photo of my grandson Jacob -now 12 weeks - hes getting so HUGE - don't know where 12 weeks went!

Such a cute photo - wish mine were that little all over again - I love babies!!

Think that phots better than a card anyway!

Well its back off to my scribing work for me  - might get a card posted tonite -either that or the ironing! - otherwise see you tomorrow

Spring has sprung - again

Hi blog friends

I'm definately on a pretty card thing at the minute - my daughter wanted a birthday card for her mother in law and this is what she got!  Its another of those Lili of the Valley pretty girlies, they're always so easy to colour (I've asked for some of the new ones for my birthday next week and its a suprise which ones I get so I just can't wait).  I started off making this with the LOTV challenge in mind but didn't get it finished in time! not that it matters, but it did make me think outside the box a bit because it was a peaches and cream challenge. I haven't got those colours in copics so I went back to my promarkers and brought in more colour with my prismacolor pencils, I think it worked in the end.  I decided to go the whole fairy thing and give her a real helping of glitter - dres,s wings, shoes wand - the whole shebang as well as the roses, have to say I'm not usually a glitter girl but I did like what it did for this card, I don't think glitter photographs very well as its making it look sort of dirty - but I promise its not its lovely and glittery.

the inside

I don't always photograph the inside of the cards I make but this is such a sweet message I thought it need an outing!  It was cut very simply from spellbinders labels sixteen to match the front and the sentiment is from a Whiff of Joy text set of nine called Magical Wishes.  The tiny buterflies are a fikars punch I picked up in a local craft shop sale bin for 50p- bargin!

You can see the glitter better in
close up
What I did ......

Stamp - Lili of the Valley - pom pom
papers - first edition - spring feast

Pearls - from my stash

Tiny butterfly punch - fiskars

Glitter -Martha Stewart - topaz glitter glue
Tag - sizzix
Sentiment and stamping on tag - Dawn Bibby
Sentiment inside card - Whiff of Joy Magical wishes
Flowers - wild orchid and Prima
Coloured with copics, promarkers and prismacolor pencils

I'm entering this card for the following challenges

Allsorts Challenge - Things with wings (152)
The Poodles Parlour - Birthday (74)
Crafters Companion monthly challenge - Spring

Its Mellow Yellow day over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges

Hi blog friends

Hope you're all having a good day - its lovely up here in the frozen north (despite the rumours we do get good weather up here), the sun is shining, the sky is blue ...."and I am happy, happy all through".  walked for miles on the beach this morning with the hound dog, I love it when the tide is right out.  but enough of me...

Its Wednesday so that means a new challenge over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges and
This week , we are again lucky to be sponsored by:

the DT were doubly lucky and allowed to play with an image too. Just to give you the "heads up", there are several freebie images available from the stamp fairy that fit perfectly with this weeks theme which is.....

"Mellow Yellow"

We would like you to make yellow the main focus of the card or have a daffodil or two on it, or even combine the two!! This is in honour of St David's Day which was on 1st March. So lets see you over at F'nF this week, all of this sunshine is enough to inspire everybody to get the yellow paper, pens and ribbons out - or the odd daffodil!

Here's my DT as you can see I went with the daffodil option with a bit of yellow for good measure

What I did....

Shaped card - Craftwork cards
Bunny image - Available to download for free at Stamp Fairy
Paper - Dovecraft - back to basics
Yellow check card - from my stash
Sentiment - from Dawn Bibby - Woodland rabbits set
Flowers -Wild orchid crafts
Yellow pearls Kaiser craft
die cuts - Spellbinders
Ribbon- Carnmeal cottage
Picket fence and heart cut with my cricut expression - My community and Wedding carts

Its a very simple card really but with a cute bunny image like that what more do you need
