Anything goes challenge at Delightful challenges

Hello again

Here I am back again with my last challenge for this year! and this one is the easiest of all

At delightful challenges this week we want to see
Anything

Thats because

Anything Goes!

I decided to do a last minute push and make yet another Christmas card

I used this cute angel from the Musical Angels set available here
There are actually 3 cute Angels in this set and a sentiment
and its on sale just now!!!

Sorry about the rubbish photo - its been really hard getting decent phots in the "dark days before Christmas" and on top of that because this card is fairly neutral - it looks a bit washed out!

I decided to keep it fairly plain because there's a whole lot of image going on here!

Heres what I did....

Rejoice! Sentiment - from the carolling sentiment set
Coloured with copics
skin E21,E00,E000,R30
Hair E53,E51,E50
ClothersE43,E41,E40,R39

Shaded with prismacolour pencil warm grey
Distress Ink - Tim Holtz Tea Dye
Papers - a silent night by paper mania
Crown pins - wild orchid crafts
Pearls - christmas colours from MCH

Use ribbon and/or lace at Fab'n'Funky challenges

Good morning all

OOOO! its getting close now - I have to admit I still love that countdown to Christmas.
We have our last challenge of the year over at Fab'n'Funky challenges this week.
Our lovely Sue has set us a really pretty easy challenge

The theme is

Use Ribbon and/or lace

I love to use ribbon on cards, its my favourite embellie by far.  I often buy ribbon by the reel - especially at Christmas - but Oh how I hate coming to the end of a ribbon reel lol!!

The card I have for today is one of my quick and easy' s!! I made a whole batch of them using the precoloured toppers from LOTV  this one is from the Christmas  girls set.  I saw on their website that they are phasing these out in favour of some different die cut shapes - such a shame as they are a great size to work with.

This is what I did.....

Image -   LOTV precoloured topper - Christmas girls
Papers - Recollections from Michaels
Die cut snowflakes and corners - Whimsy Stamps
Die Cut letters - from sizzix vintage market
Pearls - Michaels recollections
Ribbon - sam pooles creative studios
Card and paper distressed with - tim holtz tea dye distress ink

This challenge runs until 30th December and the winner will be announced on the blog on 31st December  -Cant wait to see your pretty creations

Challenges I'm entering with this card

Creative craft challenges - non traditional christmas
Nutcrackers - lots of layers / sparkle/ bling

"Celebrate" Inky Impressions December bloghop

Hello again!

I've had such a busy blogging week and have come to the end with my final post for the week, which coincidentally is also my final post for Inky Impressions.  I'm so sad to leave Inky and I want to take this opportunity to thank our "Inky Mamma" Nicole for having me on the team, I have so enjoyed working with these cute little images and the lovely Inky embellies.  Thanks also to Tonya our DT coordinator for being so understanding about life (and holidays away!) getting in the way of my DT duties this term.  It's really for that reason that I  knew that I had to stand down. To those who think that working on a DT team like Inky is easy - it's really not - its a big commitment if you do it properly and because I know that I haven't got enough hours in the day to do it to my very best - well I've already said it - i'm standing down.

There are some great new girls starting on the team in the new term in January - so watch out for news of them starting on the DT blog, I know there's going to be some fab new projects from them next term.

Anyway onto the blog hop this month

We are all celebrating (well what else do you do in December!!), so we have all kinds of cards for you to see along the way on our hop. I've used the fabulous Marleigha and Pebbles skating available here

I decided just to be boring and traditional and keep on celebrating Christmas!! Sometimes it gets a bit full on but really I love Christmas - it is after all only a few days and as the years have gone by and our kids have grown up ( and things are altogether calmer) we've got new traditions and things that we do, but most of all its about family.  This year we have our grandson - well we had him last year as well but at only 11 days old he didn't do much other than sleep - this year he's such a joy and I'm so looking forward to the  toys and mess that will come with him on Christmas day lol.

So.... if you want the chance to win a great inky prize of 2 digis of your choice here's the order of the hop and who knows where the prize will be hidden. Just follow the order of the hop and leave a comment at each stop and you could be the lucky winner of this special Christmas blog hop, the last date for commenting is 21st December - hope we see you there

Order of the hop!

Very Blingy at Delightful Challenges

Hello again

Here I am with my second post of the day for Delightful Challenges. and this ones a pretty sparkly one - if you want it to be or maybe very shiny and brash -Who cares!

-just as long as you make it

Very Blingy

Our sponsor this week is Marker Pop who is offering a fab prize of $15 certificate to spend in store

I decided to use this cute little guy called Sweet Ginger from Digital Delights
available here, to make a sweetie bag topper.

My son-in-law loves M&Ms so I always get him a Christmas Colour theme bagful and thought it would be fun to ad this cute little topper.  I think these are a great idea to make sweetie presents, they look so cute and  you can fill the bag with any goodies- sweets, a cupcake, fun size bars, pick'n'mix! - much nicer and cheaper than a selection box and so easy to make.

This is what I did....

Image (complete with "sweet" sentiment) - Sweet Ginger from Digital Delights
Coloured with - copics
Glittered with - Martha Stewart glitter glue
Eyes, nose and cheeks glossed with - glossy accents

I attached this to die cut circle cut with the smallest circle die from grand nesties and folded in half
- then staped to the top of the bag and
Decorated - with ribbon and a star from my stash

Easy peasy!! and such a change from making Christmas cards lol

There are lots of very blingy creations over at Delightful challenges this week - why not call on over and give your eyes a sparkly treat!

Challenges I'm entering the treat topper into

Addicted to stamps - bingo - red green dies
Crafting for all seasons - red green with glitter sparkle
Creative Belli blog - sweets/candy

I didn't go for the out and out funny card, just thought to myself - use a snowman and find a silly sentiment -

so here it is!

This cute little snowman is Snowday from Stampart by Kathrye over at Whimsy stamps.  I love how simple this image is - it made me smile just to look at him - a real childlike appeal and as for cold twigs - warm heart, I don't know about you but my twigs are freezing these days lol.

A Vintage Christmas Challenge at Fab'n'Funky Challenges

Hello Blogfriends

Well I made it today - better late than never as they say.  I've been back from my hollies in Florida since Monday - getting over lovely gastroenteritis / gastric flu / norovirus - whatever you want to call it - it deserves at least 3 names because its 3 times as bad as anything I've had in a long time!!  Never mind I'm over the worst of it now and I've just been lazing around making a few cards and colouring.  Just as well I've found this little bit of time because I had coloured some images ready for when I got back to make up into cards and now I've lost them because I had a big tidy up before I went away - that'll teach me to be to tidy -I won't be doing that again lol.

Anyway onto today's challenge over at Fab'n'Funky Challenges
Our hostess today is our lovely Anne-Marie who has chosen the theme

A Vintage Christmas

We are lucky enough to have two sponsors this week

who are giving a voucher to spend in their store

and

Floppy Lattes Digital Designs ::All Digital All The Time

Who are giving a voucher for $10 for their store
or for $12 if the winner uses a Floppy Latte image

We got some lovely images from Floppy Latte that were just perfect for our Vintage theme

I chose to use Holly Ribbons - which is the gorgeous vintage Holly Garland on this card

Vintage cards are a particular favourite of mine  but for me they need to be "properly vintage" and its a fine balance! To me vintage is about more than just the image.  Its the colours the design and just the right amount of embellies - and that's what gave me such problems with this cards, I just couldn't get the embellies right.  I had finished the card last night but wasn't happy with the look and to be honest there's still something missing for me, but that's the balance I suppose and I didn't want to overload it.

This is what I did.....

Images
Holly Ribbons from Floppy Latte
and
Happy New Year from Liastamps at Whimsy stamps
Both coloured with Copics and prismacolor pencils

Stamp - Vintage birthday tabs from Whimsy stamps
Holly berries - glossed with glossy accents
Ribbons and "Merry Christmas" tag - from my stash
