Get reading for our challenge at MAWTT this week

Morning all

I hope you are all waking up to a sunny morning this morning - it's lovely here in the frozen north!  Warm and not a cloud in the sky and the day has bearly begun.

I have to say I haven't had the best of nights - our house alarm kept going off - 3 times we got woken up with a start.  of course the first time you go looking for burglars in your sleepy stupor -  only to realise that as you  didn't actually  set the alarm it wouldn't be that!!

Turns out we've had a series of power cuts through the night  - that means that the alarm circuit is broken so it goes off automatically (my clever electric man husband tells me) and as the back up battery in the alarm must be flat there's nothing to stop it - all I know is I haven't had a good night's sleep.  As for alarms we don't and never have used the blooming thing - it just came with the house - hands up who thinks alarms are a total waste of time - how many times have you rung the police when you heard one going off.... or do you just moan about the noise and ignore it?!

Anyway I digress....We have a great challenge for you at

Moving along with the Times

this week - totally up my street!

we want you to

Get Reading

in other words either a card based on a book or alternatively use a bookprint page on your card

I decided to make a card based on the book Tom Sawyer by Mark Twain

I just loved this stamp when I saw it over at LOTV together with the happy birthday large sentiment it makes a quick and easy CAS type card

This is what I did ....

image - A lick of paint from LOTV
Coloured with copics
large birthday sentiment - LOTV statements (fabulous)
sentiment tag - LOTV
Papers - from MME Bramble rose pad
HAPPY letters - cut with TH vintage market dies from sizzix

If you're an avid reader like me then this challenge is just perfect for you - show us the story - in a card - we'd love to come and visit

Challenges im entering with this card

4 crafty chicks - inspired by a book
scrapbookersphd - focus on the sentiment
Southern girls - get wordy
creative card crew - sentiment
die cutting divas - include something that can be found in the garden (fence!)

Love the card Judith, cute image and great design -the fence paper is a perfect background!
I hate alarms...we don't need one, we have Mathilda! She can look very scary if she wants to (she's a big softie really) and boy her bark is impressive....and loud!

Before I even read your title on our MAWTT page I thought it was a Mark Twain reference and I'm so pleased you've put it together like this. The wood grain is a fantastic touch x Jessie

I absolutely love this Judith, it's a fabulous card. I have been swithering all weekend over buying this image - had one of the original LotV b&W art pads with this image which I used for a card and I loved it but couldn't decide whether to buy it or not. I think you just made up my mind!!
