Happy Birthday MAWTT!

Good Morning blog friends

Hope you're all well this fine morning - the weather is still holding out as I write this post, but as I'll be stuck in the office all day it doesn't much matter what happens after I go out the door and off to work!

Its an exciting day over at Moving Along With The Times this week - its our third birthday - three whole years of fun challenges .... and we're ready to celebrate.  The challenge this week is not for a week - its a fortnight!!  The DT will be posting cards again next week but you have a whole to weeks to enter this huge challenge, with a whole host of prizes on offer from our fantastic sponsors.  Remember you can enter a maximum of 3 times and combine as many other challenges as you like, the challenge is - obvious - how could it be anything else!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

The card I've made is for my son Tom who is 20 tomorrow.  He's away on holiday this week at an activities centre - canoeing, zip wires - those sort of scary things!  Definitely not my cup of tea - I'm scared in case I fall of the kerb!!  Anyway this card is made using Saturated Canary's Usherette.  The DT girls were really lucky to be given a whole selection of images from all our different sponsors and we've all made a selection of cards to show you over the two weeks of the challenge.

I knew this little usherette was the perfect image for a card for Tom when I saw it when it was released earlier this year, so I jumped at the chance when the lovely Krista said we could all choose one stamp from her fab shop for this challenge.  Tom is studying film and media at university - he lives and breathes film, not just going to the cinema, he knows anything and everything about  directors, producers, film history, film scripts -all sorts of all sorts, so this was his without a doubt!!  I also knew that I had this fab K & Co paper, I've had it for years waiting patiently in a pad, along with all sorts of other papers for years just waiting for this stamp to come along!!  I tried to get a very vintage look to this card - sort of Film Noire with a splash of colour ha ha

Heres what I did...

Digi stamp - Usherette by Saturated Canary
Coloured with - Copics and Prismacolor pencils
Paper - K & Co - all the elements -"popcorn", tickets the camera scene were all cut from the one 12x12
Organza Ribbon - Carnmeal cottage
Sentiment - Anna Griffin stamp set

I was really please with the effect when I had finished - its just so him! - not that there's any Usherettes in cinemas any more but I'm sure you know what I mean.  He gets home on his birthday tomorrow and I've missed him being here this week so we're out for a family birthday celebration tomorrow night!

By the time you read this I'll be sitting at my desk : (  - hope  its a quiet day lol

DYSU Challenge  - inspires by a film (popcorn!)
Crafts and me - anything goes
Paperminutes - movies

hugs

Hi Judith, so sorry I've not been by for absolutely ages! Me bad! Can only blame it on being really busy at home, one day I think I will eventually get up to date with my commenting!!

Fabulous cards since I was here last, and you are so lucky that you get to go to America and buy craft stuff there. If I could persuade my hubby that it was worth the price of a ticket - I'd be there in flash.

Judith, Great card, I love the red with the brown tones, it makes it look sort of nostalgic. All the film elements also add a nice touch. Thank you for sharing this with us on Art With No Boundaries.
