It's anything goes at Whimsy stamps challenge this month - sounds like a good excuse to make Christmas cards to me!!

Hello again

(Please scroll down for my post for The Paper Shelter and Fab'n'Funky Challenges Halloween Challenges)

Well its a busy old day for me - after being pretty absent for the last week or so - to be honest I think I've lost my crafty gene this week - I've struggled so much and there's not much there!  I haven't even done much blogging so I'm really sorry if I haven't visited you lately - it's nothing personal - honest! - I just need a bit of a kick start I think - though I did manage to come up with this weeks cards ok so maybe I'm on my way back on track - I hope so : )

Anyway - on to this months Whimsy Stamps Challenge

its the old favourite

Anything Goes

We had such a great variety at Whimsy Stamps for new releases this month and us DT girls are lucky enough to get to play with all the new releases every month - we had Autumn, Halloween, Christmas lots of cuties and animals - spoilt for choice really, and so many different styles from our lovely designers. I decided to use anything goes as an opportunity to get another Christmas card stashed away and ready to go! - so I chose this really cute snowman from Crissy Armstrong

The image is called Snowman hold my heart and is available here

I really like the red/kraftcard combo for Christmas cards - I made quite a few last year and think I might have to check on my kraftcard stocks before I get going on this years.  I pulled out all my Christmas "stuff" from last year ( i find it easier just to pack it all away) and found alsorts of dies and embellies I had forgotten I had - including this lovely snowflake border die also from Whimsy stamps - I think this might get a few outings too

This is what I did...

Snowflake die - Whimsy stamps
Label die - Dienamics

We're getting distressed at Fab'n'Funky challenges this week - in a nice way!

Good morning all

I was starting to think nobody loved me anymore - after z couple of manic days I haven't had much blogging time  and just foundh post still on draft grrrrr! - so that's why no one visited today! - anyway here it is -  off to the gym now but I'll pop on later to see you all xx.......

We have a brand new challenge at Fab'n'Funky challenges this week - almost as if it was made for me with my vintage/ distress thing going on at the moment

The challenge is

Distressing

I decided to go with a different effect this time - not something I've done a lot before - but I like to experiment.  I used my TH distress tool to distress all of the edges and curled the corners to give a distressed look.  I decided not to use my distress inks to keep it fresh looking and I think I quite liked this first attempt

I chose this cute little image called Bows 'lil Santas helper from Lacy Sunshine
 Available here

She's a sort of messy little girl and the distressed look quite suits her!

We are lucky enough to have two fabulous sponsors at
Fab'n'Funky Challenges this week

Flonzcraft

prize $20 shop voucher (plus free shipping)

also offering 12% discount in their shop to all challenge entrants

and

who are offering a prize of 5 Digi Images

This is what I did ...

Coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils
Glitter - Martha Stewart silver glitter glue
Paper - K & co swell noel
Ribbon - vintage seam binding from crafty ribbons
Sentiment labels - LOTV

Wooden embellie star - Kars

Hope we see you over at Fab'n'Funky this week - any distressing will do!

Con - grat - u - lations

Morning all

I'm pretty sure that anyone of a certain age in the UK will be able to hear Cliff Richard singing

Con-grat-u-lations

How could you avoid it! I can't say the word without singing the song in my head!

and over at

My time to Craft

this week this is our theme

Anything with Congratulations
(or something of similar meaning - well done etc)

I decided on a baby girl Congratulations card

The image is a digi called Baby Girl from Lia Stampz at Whimsy Stamps available here
There is also a "boy" version of this - they are both such pretty stamps

I think I got into a bit of a distress thing a week or so back with lots of distress/vinage style
 - now I can't get out of it lol

Here's what I did....

Image - Baby girl from Lia Stampz by Whimsy Stamps

Two colours at The Paper Shelter

Good morning all

oooo - I've had such blogger problems - just about tearing my hair out trying to get this post to post - well its either blogger or my laptop - either way I couldn't do what I wanted - and I'm never happy if I can't get my own way - just ask my DH lol!!

But if you're reading this I finally got there so the tantrum will be over

Its time for a new challenge over at

and the theme is

Use only two colours
(includes shades of those colours and not hair or skin)

I have to say this is not my most favourite theme ever - but well we can't like them all.  For some reason my brain just couldn't get it together on this one.  I eventually came up with this card - and even then I can't decide whether I like it or not -  but it has grown on me!  I went to TPS store in search of inspiration and found this image which was a pre- coloured one - in shades of reds/pinks and brown/beige - and took it from there.

The image is called My Little Spoiled and is available here
I can certainly say that this image was the inspiration to make this card as I was clueless until I found it
- no change there then lol.

I decided to go with a sort of shabby chic theme as those colours seemed to fit

As always there are fab prizes up for grabs at The Paper Shelter

I think she is my favourite little witch for this year - I 've just been dying to use her.
She's just soo pretty and so cute!!

I'm afraid I just couldn't get a good photograph of this one at all - I just finished it off last night and it just was soo wrong in artificial light -in real life the glitter I used is matching the ribbon but in this picture it just looks like the ribbon is the wrong shade with the colouring - oh well :(

This is what I did...

Coloured with Copics and Prismacoor pencils
Paper and aper embellies - MME - Wicked merchant mavaldo

A shabby Chic baby card fotr this months Whimsy stamps challenge

Hi all

I'm back with another card today - this time for the Whimsy stamps challenge - albeit a little late - sorry!!   The theme for this month is

Shabby Chic

I decided to use this cute little donkey by Crissy Armstrong - he's called Pin the tail on the donkey and is available here.

I made it for a friend of my daughter who has just had a baby boy. Its a big 8inch square card.  I distressed around the edges of the blue card and papers to give it a shappy chic look - it sort of goes with the look of the donkey - I think he looks a bit shabby chic too!

it's such a cute little stamp and I thought it was ideal for a new baby card - a bit different to the normal run of the mill baby card - but cute enough to suit the purpose.

There are some fab prizes for the winners over at the Whimsy Stamps Challenge this month

The Prizes are:

First Winner

Second Winner

Third Winner

Good morning all

Oh my goodness this is such a busy blogging week
Can't remember a time when I had so many cards to show in such a short time - and its not over yet!!

Todays challenge at the paper shelter is

Shabby Chic

I just fell in love with this gorgeous image and the matching paper when it was released at The paper Shelter last week  - yes its totally brand new!!

Its called Christmas Candy and is available here

I decided to use the pre-coloured image to save myself some time as I had so many challenge cards to make this week. It would also be great for making lots of Christmas cards en masse.  I simply printed off the coloured image and the matching paper - distressed around the edges with distress ink and thn slightly with my TH distressing tool.  I then mounted onto Kraft card  for that shabby look - and  added a couple of sentiment labels and some embellies and ribbon - it was really quick and easy to make
Here's what I did .....

Image and papers - Christmas Candy from the paper shelter
Seam binding ribbon from crafty ribbons
Sentiment tags - LOTV Christmas tags
Twine from my stash
Beige  pearls - lillibet gems from trim craft
Wooden star and snowflakes  from Kars

Hope we see you joining in with us at TPS this week
