Freezing at Thanksgiving - Florida style with My Favourite Things!!

Happy Thanksgiving to all my American friends
And greetings to friends everywhere

I'm here in Florida for a spot of R&R and to hit the sales on Friday- much better than shopping at home - even on Black Friday I don't think its as bad as weekend Christmas shopping back home!

But.... It's blooming freezing! - when I got up this morning it was only 4 degrees C!
- we had to put the heating on in the house!  I think it's just a hiccup today and set to warm iUp tomorrow but it's lunchtime now and still only 10 degrees - I just checked and it's 8 back home in Sunny Sunderland!

Never mind we're still having fun and yesterday was just the best day ever - I had some Christmas money that I was given to spend before I came so we had a drive up to a town called Eustis - so what you might say - but it's just the home of the

MY FAVOURITE THINGS SHOP!

I took some photos but for some reason computer ( or in this case iPad) says no
 - but I'll post them later

But need I say more -  I have my little pink MFT Bag full of my goodies - course they have to go to Santa to be wrapped up - but I can sit and look at them till I get home lol

We also visited the most gorgeous shop I've ever seen
- called Peddlars Wagon - it was just so beautiful
Totally over the top Christmas and the most lovely people - it was almost closing when we went to pay for all the breakable, crushable goodies that I've yet to get home and spent almost an hour talking to three of the guys about TV, British history and lots more besides - such a lovely few hours spent in Eustis - we will be back!

Hope you're all warm and cozy where you are

Hugs
Judith xx

Christmas is on its way - big time!

Good morning all

I'm here this morning with an inspirational post for Whimsy stamps, I've had a really busy week or so with not much time for crafting - or anything else for that matter!  We've been painting and decorating the house, cleaning carpets and putting our Christmas decorations up!!  I can hear you all saying WHAT!!! but yes you heard right I'm sitting here in full Christmas mode surrounded by our Christmas decorations and lights and our lovely big tree!  - we also put our outside lights up on the trees outside - but they're not turned on yet in case we scare the neighbours lol

I have to confess that I love it when the house is all decorated for Christmas - its my favourite time of year....but I'm really not a complete Christmas nut its just that we're going to Florida on Wednesday and won't be back until 7th December and that's just far to late to start putting up the tree and sorting things out - so I'm far happier that its done now.  When the family were all there for Sunday dinner yesterday we had a lovely time - just like Christmas.  My grandson loved the candles on the table - he's almost two and we had a great time lighting and blowing out candles - little things ha ha.  Even my mother who though it was "far to early for Christmas" had to admit that it cheered everything up - so I say - give it a try - you might just like an early Christmas!!

Anyway - back to the job in hand
I made these cute gift tags with a lovely set available over at Whimsy stamps

You'll find Christmas Gift Tags by Stampart Design by Kathryne HERE

There is a lovely selection of designs and I printed them out in different sizes to suit a selection of gifts
I then coloured them with copics (and glittered some) then mounted them onto red card or silver mirri, added a few snowflake embellies here and there and finished them off with ribbons.  They looked so pretty with all the bows and even my husband stopped and commented - which is not normal at all!

I still have a stack yet to colour, I think they're a great idea - and so much prettier - and cheaper than bought ones.  I was even surprised myself at how much I liked them!

Challenges I'm entering with these tags

Glitter n sparkle challenge - tag it
Jingle belles -holiday traditions

Christmas colours challenge at Fab'n'Funky Challenges

Good morning all

Brrrrr - aren't the mornings getting cold now - I had to scrape ice off my car yesterday and Monday to go to work - I just hate icy mornings,  But its my day off today and I'm just staying in the warmwhile my grandson Jacob comes to play! The only good thing about this time of year is Christmas comes somewhere in the middle of it - and I love Christmas and everything that goes with it. And on that note....

We have a brand new challenge over at
and the theme is

Traditional Christmas Colours

It's my turn to host this week and I decided to take it easy on you - the colours have to be traditional Christmas ones - but it doesn't have to be a Christmas card.  We're looking for those lovely reds, greens, gold, silver, white - maybe a touch of black on Santa,s boots - I'm sure you know what we have in mind!

Our sponsors this week is the fabulous Digi Darla Designs

who are offering a fab prize of 5 digi stamps of the winners choice

and we we're lucky enough to get some fab images to play with too

I chose this lovely image called
Stockings on  mantle - available here

This is what I did....

Image - stockings on mantle from Digi Darla designs
Coloured with copics and prismacolour pencils
Papers - LOTV
Sentiment LOTV
Ribbon - Sam Pooles creative studios

Can't wait to see your cards over at the challengeg at Fab'n'Funky this week

We have an embossing challenge over at Ready teddy go this month.

Good morning all

This is my first of two posts today - the other coming later is the Whimsy Stamps monthly blog hop - pop back and see it if you want to play along and win a great prize

But Back to the business in hand

This month our challenge at Ready Teddy go is

Embossing

Here is my card using this cute bear from  my favouriteLOTV
Called James bear in the snow - available here

Now embossing is not my favourite theme - in fact I never use embossing folders!  I struggled a bit as to what to do then decided  that I would adapt the challenge to suit the sort of embossing that I often do and that is embossed dies. I used one of my favourite Marianne dies which  embosses beautifully to give a really nice effect on these holly leaves.  This was a really easy card to make - the little bear colours up so quickly and after that it was just a bit of cutting, sticking and embossing, a quick and easy stamped sentiment - a really quick Christmas card  of the type you could easily batch make with different papers to ring the changes - think I might make a few of these.

This is what I did....

Image LOTV James bear in the snow
Coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils
Papers LOTV traditional Christmas paper pad
Sentiment LOTV Christmas labels
Die - Mariannes creatables holly
Ribbon and red pearls fom my stash
Card - Bazzill Basics
Snow - flowersoft

I hope I've inspird you with another option to make a card using embossing - that doesn't have to be an embossing folder or heat embossed design

Challenges I'm entering with this card

Crafty little fairies - anything goes/DT CALL
Card crafters circle - cute cards
Jingle belles - not a creature was stirring
Polka doodles - anything goes Christmas
Crafty hands challenge- anything goes

Hugs
