And we're still going with Anything goes at Pennys this week

Hi all

Well, after my blogging marathon last week when I posted 3 times in one day I've been absent for a whole week!  I haven't been a very good blogger lately mainly because I've just been enjoying the lovely weather we've had these past couple of months, hot sunny days out and about and sitting in the garden in the evenings with a little lemonade (!) - and the downside not sleeping well because of the heat  has meant I've been so tired in the evenings which is when I usually do most of my crafting.I hope you are all having a good summer, it's just lovely to have good weather for weeks on end instead of the usual British rain day, miss a day, little bit of sun.....and here in the north of England we seem to have escaped the storms and winds that the south of the country has had.

Anyway I'm here with my DT card for Penny's Paper Crafty Challenges

and we have another week of

Anything Goes

The image is Bahama Woodstar from Sprinkle and Sparkle
available here

I loved this pretty image when I saw it, its so different from what is around in the digi market - but it caused me no end of trouble, this card was on my desk for 3 days because I just couldn't bring myself to like what I had made!! - that was after trying all sorts of combinations of paper and embellies and sentiments. Sometimes its just so hard to please yourself (and sorry to Julie our long suffering DT boss lady that I was so last minute but I was really trying to like it!!)  part of the problem was the flowers , I couldn't find the dies I wanted to use and it went downhill from there really.

This is what i did

Image - bahama woodstar from sprinkle and sparkle
coloured with copics and prismacolor pencils
papers - LOTV
Flourish die - Cheery lynn
Flower punches -  Martha Stewart and Woodware
Gems - from my stash
Dark green card - Bazzill basics
Sentiment - Sheena Douglas
TH DI - tea dye and

Hope we see you playing along at Pennys this week

Hey babe ... take a walk on the wild side.... do do do, do, do do do, do do do do ...

Good morning all

Well I have to say that this theme got me singing!  I know it was meant to get me crafting but I just keep hearing Lou Reed singing that song and what a song - takes me back to my favourite ever music year 1972 - I was 13 that year and just lived for music

as another song says - I love music - any kind of music
 - but I digress that's not our challenge for the week!

And what is the song - I hear you  asking!!

its the name of our theme for this week at

Fab'n'Funky Challenges

which is...

(Take) A Walk on the Wild Side
(do do do, do, do do do, do .......!)

And here's the card to go with it

using the cute Plush Panda from Doodle Pantry
available here

I have to say that this card gave me more trouble than I've had for a long time in making a card
I had originally intended to use a different image but I just couldn't get my head together at all and that card is still in pieces on my desk - waiting for me to get my act together! - So I decided to start from scratch and made this one instead - my mojo's being very selective these days lol

We have a fab sponsor at Fab'n'funky this week

Doodle Pantry

who are giving our winner 3 digis of their choice
- and there are so many cuties to choose from

Here's what I did....

Image and paper - Plush panda coloured from Doodle Pantry
Die cuts - MFT blueprints 14 (great inspiration when your mojo is broken!)
Ribbon and pearls - from my stash

I'm releived to get this card posted and out of my hair - albeit very late - I hate when this happens lol

Hope you'll join us at Fab'n'Funky challenges this time - we are running each of our summer challenges for 2 weeks - so you have lots of time to join in.

Challenges I'm entering with this card

Fantastic Tuesday -Anything goes

Anyway back to our "holiday" challenge

but i suppose she could also be going home for the holidays - both bases covered lol

She is called Bon Voyage and is available here

Summer fun with the crafty little Fairies - and me!! - and some photos

Hello crafty friends

Well I'm just about up to date with myself and thought I'd post my (late) DT card for

and just come to say a proper hello.

The theme is

Summer Fun

I'm sorry I haven't been around much-  you must have wondered where I was, but since I took early retirement  at the end of March my feet have barely touched the ground (well not at home anyway)

After I came back from my holiday in May and did my stint scribing for my son Tom for his uni work, I have then been doing a lot of late helping my cousin with her daughters wedding which culminated in a lovely 4 days in the Lakes District at the end of June for the wedding.  When we came home on the Sunday night my son Tom (who has cerebral palsy) had to be sorted out to go an activity holiday with his support worker to the Calvert Trust in Keilder on the Monday and I had a whole week off that week because my daughter had taken time off so I didn't have Jacob my grandson to look after either - great I thought I'll have some nice crafty time to myself - not so!! - my lovely hubby had booked us a short holiday to Corfu leaving the next morning (didn't he know I had cards to make lol!)  We had a lovely 4 days- just the two of us which we don't very often get he chance to do - got back in the early hours of last Sunday so I totally missed out last week altogether.

Anyway - back to the card lol. Its a very large 7x10 inch card, you must be groaning and saying - not those Sheen Douglas shell stamps again - but I just love them!! - With lots of summer themed challenges around I'm going to use them to death - so sorry but I'm sure there's more to come

Here's what I did.....

Sentiment - created in word (taken from a plaque I have in my conservatory)
Stamps - Sheena Douglas seashells
coloured with perfect pearls (another recent  addiction!)
Papers - (very ancient) K and Co no idea what theyre called
Card - Bazzill basics
pearls from my stash
Hessian ribbon - do crafts
palm tree die - MFT dienamics
fishtail flag die also dienamics

Here's a quick catch up of what I've been up to recently - in photos.....

dinner by the pool in Corfu - a great little hotel
my new conservatory furniture that arrived yesterday - love it!!
we're trying for Florida beach house style
to fit in with this challenge lol

the wedding outfit
(complete with those shoes - if you saw them a couple of posts back)

the lovely view from our room on lake Derwentwater - a little piece of heaven

Well I think that's about it for now - I'll be round to visit and catch up soon
